Hampden Mainspring Information Needed Please!
Hey guys!Does anybody have a Hampden Material Catalog ? ? ?I need a new mainspring for a Hampden Molly Stark, size 3/0s, HC, lever set, sn 1314891.I think that the correct factory number spring is 9696 but can somebody confirm this for me before I order a new one? Is MS-JS313 the correct Borel number?I just put this movement back together after polishing every last metal bushing and the hairspring looks nice and flat.I can't find anything wrong with it but it's just still not right, bushings are good, pivots are good, jewels are good, the mainspring is probably very old and tired.So, I'm thinking that installing a new mainspring will solve this problem maybe.A good strong spring at the beginning can solve a lot of problems!

A few months back, I acquired an Elgin 'Crusader', a neat little watch from the 1950sThe black dial is pretty scabrous, though I think pretty clearly original.This week, I picked up the movement and dial from a Crusader, but a WHITE dial that's pristine, at least compared to the black one.I need to service either movement before I can wear the watch, so I was thinking of swapping int he white dial and sending off the black one to see what ID can make of it.If I do that, and get both movements working, I will have a mix-and-match Crusader! BUT, what do y'all think about sending off an original black dial for refurbishment?

I just got my new to me watch and I love it. It is a Jaeger lecoultre Master Moon in 18k white gold. I find it to be the perfect size for my wrist and love the balance of the dial. I must give a huge thanks to Scott (our admin) who was kind enough to work the deal with me. Please find the pictures below. (and this is not the "POS" I was talking about on the xmas in july thread, just so there is no confusion )Hope you like her

I love my watches (including my 5070G, 5205R, 1680 Red, Daytona 116520, etc.) but have this crazy idea that has been haunting me since November: Sell everything (or almost everything keeping perhaps a steel Rolex) and acquire a 5970P or 5970G perhaps?What would give you more enjoyment?1. Erratic behaviour of my 5712
Hi there,I have a question for you. I bought my 5712 (new) a few months ago and the watch was running perfectly (less than a second of deviation per week) until a few weeks ago. Since a few weeks, my 5712 is having a strange behaviour... The watch runs perfectly for 5 to 10 days (I check almost every day with an app that is synchronized by an atomic clock) and then the watch loose 2 to 10 minutes in a day!!! For example, my watch was perfectly synchronized last night (less than 3 seconds of difference with the atomic clock) and it was 4 minutes late around 2pm today!! I didn't check it this morning but I am sure that I was still synchronized. Any idea of what could be the problem ?? Could a magnetized watch behave like that ? Again, as I said, the watch can run almost with no deviation for a few days and then loose between 2 to 10 minutes in less than 24 hours! Any help would be appreciated.Thanks
