WatchTime Q&A: Seiko Watch CEO Shinji Hattori on Seiko’s First U.S. Boutique
Seiko Corporation of America has opened a boutique at 510 Madison?Avenue in New York between 52nd and 53rd Street. The official opening was August 19. Seiko has many boutiques in Asia but this is its first one in the United States. On hand for the occasion was Shinji Hattori, CEO of Seiko Watch Corp. and chairman of its parent company, Seiko Holdings Corp., who is the great-great-grandson of Seiko founder, Kintaro Hattori.Shinji Hattori led a delegation of Seiko executives from Japan for the official opening of the boutique and a celebration party at 620 Loft & Garden in New York. A special guest of honor at the party was Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic, who is a Seiko ambassador.Earlier that day, I met with Hattori in New York to discuss the boutique. I happened to tune into SchlocksNBC last night. Low and behold, my Ole' buddy Craig Hester's mug was looking back at me. Long time, no see. Seems our biggest TV vender has picked up Vostok Europe as another brand for it's watch stable.I own several VE models. Some are good. A few are so so. The Vostok 32 jewel Russian automatic movements have proven to be reliable and accurate (if properly tuned), but the assembly line QC in Vilnius, Lithuania seems to run hot and cold. However, Craig has always done right by me in the warranty department. I hope that does not change and that VE QC has improved. Good luck Craig.

Sorry if you¡¯re being annoyed by these posts, I just appreciate the opinions of others when making these decisions Down to two. 16570 M serial with a 3186 movement and engraved rehaut (doesn¡¯t include warranty card but has box and booklets)($5500 Canadian shipped)Or 116400 V series. Black dial clear crystal. Has a small scratch on crystal at 5 o clock (purely cosmetic) but is full kit and overall good condition. ($6000 Canada FtF)Love both of these watches equally.
