Speaking of the Daytona, anyone want to chime in on the market/demand right now?
My sense is that Daytonas are tightening up a bit. Earlier this Spring/Summer, you were seeing a lot of them for sale and you were seeing them below retail. My AD called me last week and offered me one that had come in, but I didn't bite.

Why is there lume on an Omega diver?
I was just staring at my lume last night and a thought occurred to me. Why do divers watches have so much lume? Surely if the water was dark, diving without some form of artificial light source such as a torch (flashlight) would be extremely dangerous. And if you have that light source, surely you could point it in the direction of the SMP or PO to check the time? Or is it just to check the time in the dark on terra firma?Any divers or experts offer any insight?

Roy Scheider's Watch in The French Connection???
I was watching my French Connection DVD and there is a not so great shot of Roy Scheider's watch and I was wondering if there was a way to deduce what it might be from what we can see of the style and the era the film was made. The movie was shot in 1971 and it could very well just be a Timex but I figured someone might actually recognize the watch from this crappy screen shot. My guess is that since he a cop it's probably not vintage and is most likely from the late sixties early 70's.
