IWC 500121 wrist watches news:
The "new way" at IWC is to make each year themed. Last year was the year of the Ingenieur while the year before that was year of the pilot watch. 2014 at IWC will be the year of the Aquatimer, so expect to see a fully re-launched collection of some of the nicest high-end tool watches around. Actually, before we move on to discuss a preview of the 2014 Aquatimer watches I want to clarify my previous statement. While for the most part IWC shows the media only pieces of a specific family (i.e. Aquatimer), it isn't true that they don't release other new models. Those merely wait until later in the year to be released. Anyhow, back to our excitement over the new Aquatimers. UPDATE: watches-dealer has new 2014 IWC Aquatimer watch information with additional details and models here.It was back in 2009 that IWC last revisited the Aquatimer, and the collection was nice but a bit controversial. Why controversial? Nothing was wrong with the pieces but some people felt that they were too colorful.
Well, we kind of knew this was coming, we just didn't know when. This is the Shawn Carter By Hublot Classic Fusion, a new limited edition watch designed by Mr. Carter himself and produced by Hublot. But before we get into this new watch, let's go through a bit of the back story.? Jay Z means a lot to watches, and one could venture to say that watches mean a lot to him.? He's been a Rolex guy from some of his earliest verses, and he was one of the very first to have the foresight, along with the folks at Audemars Piguet, to work on a limited edition, personality-driven timepiece. He was an AP friend and client for years, and even signed and donated his own AP tourbillon to charity. Coincidentally, when our editor Ben Clymer interviewed LeBron James two years ago for Jay's website Life & Times, about his then brand new relationship with AP, LBJ mentioned that it was indeed Jay who introduced him to the brand. And now, as of four days ago, LeBron has his very own AP.? And then came Jay's
Hey there Gals and GuysNow if I assume you are like me when it comes to cars, you would service your watches on the dot by which I mean, following the manufacturer's recommendations for service intervals. The only car I didn't service on the dot before was my first car. One of my newbie car-ownership idiosyncrasies was that I didn't get my car serviced until the idle speed of the engine was getting so low that it wouldn't always idle. Mind you, I had taken a screwdriver to it to tweak the idle speed. If nothing else, I didn't mind taking tools to car.more so than I would a watch. So do you service your watches on the dot or when there are signs that a watch doctor was needed. The watch could be losing time or behaving erratically, a sure indication that help was needed.I'm going to put this into a poll as well if you don't mind. I like our new poll toy but let's keep talkin' too amigos Y'all be well now pals ZIN
Bought today this two Watch Winder in Brookstone:link removedIt's well built, incredibly silent and has a reasonable number of adjustments for TPD settings.Overall, very satisfied. Hard to beat for the price in my opinion.
I mostly hang out in the Bulova/Accutron forum but I hope you will allow me to come here to pick your brains a bit. I went to an estate auction this AM and there must have been 1500 watches for sale, mostly junk. They were selling them by the box and I bought a box to get a Railroad Approved Accutron. There were some other Bulovas in the box as well as some Timexes, some Walthams, a Gruen, a Wittnauer, a Hamilton, a Croton etc but here's the one I'm wondering about. This illinois doesn't run and won't set, the crown can be wound off of it. Is it a escapee from the junk bin to which it should be returned or is it a candidate for resurrection. Any information will be appreciated.
