IWC 544205 wrist watches news:
Hi! I'm new on that board, I was searching on the web some help to value an antique watch I own. And I came across your forum! I was gifted a watch, when my mother passed away, years ago, and she had that watch from grand-mother. It's probably old. It is working perfectly. It's in pretty good shape, only few "diamonds" are missing. I have no clue about the value, I don't know any local market in my area for that kind of watch. Is it worth something??? That's what I'm trying to find out! Any help is appreciated! Thanks! I'm adding some pics!
I am sure that aficionados of the brand all have their own reasons for owning IWC. What are the reasons you decided to buy this brand? Is it because you wanted a less "popularly known" brand, or did you buy based on the design, or maybe based on a specific feature or for a technical reason? I am just curious. To me, I am interested because they seem like a durable brand and one which is well crafted and less well known than some. So I guess I am attracted to it for a mix of reasons. What about you?
Elgin 19 jewels. Just got this one in a few days ago. Traded out a worn dial for a less worn dial. Interesting thing is that originally, the backs of the hands were coated with radium, part of Elgin's Nite Glo series. For the heck of it, I coated the hands with new lume and sure enough, it castes a green light on the dial, outlining the hands!
I have to admit that I am a James Bond fan. But it was until recently I came to know about the Omega Seamaster 300 association with James Bond. Omega Seamaster 300M has been on James Bond wrist for almost 2 decades now. It all started when the New James Bond (then) Pierce Brosnan needed a new 007 watch. Lindy Hemming had chosen the SM300 partly because of the Seamaster's history with the British Royal Navy. The Seamaster has been the style icon for the perfect spy.The Omega Seamaster 300 has been through adventures like Golden Eye 1995 (Seamaster Quartz Professional 300M), Tomorrow Never Dies 1997 (OMEGA Seamaster 300M), The World is not enough 1999 (OMEGA Seamaster 300M), Die Another Day 2002 (Seamaster 300), & Casino Royale 2006 (OMEGA Seamaster 300M & Seamaster Planet Ocean). Later movies like Quantum of Solace 2008 and Skyfall 2012 wears OMEGA Planet Ocean 600M and OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra. There is more to the review and more details on the watch at: Omega Seamaster 300M
