IWC IW326104 wrist watches news:
Another addition to my 60's Seiko box and this time it is a automatic 7625-8011 from October 1967. I picked this one up as a project as it is in a bit of a mess, crystal is nasty and the case is a little marked but not too much that a little effort will not fix it. Seller advertised it as second hand moving but could not move the hour hands as the crown was not working correctly and it was stuck, on arrival I removed the crown and the stem was bent and it straightened very easily. The movement is keeping perfect time now for the last 8 hours but the dial is my main issue. Apologies for the pics but I hope you can see what I mean, the numbers/letters under the 6 on the dial are all crooked "Japan 7625 8000". I'm not sure how it happened, it does not look like it is a redial. It also looks like someone was poking the dial and it has left it with a lot of little indentations on it. So any suggestions as to why the numbers are crooked and also what are the potential costs to get the dial r
Hey guys !It's time to do some more LASER WELDING on a Trench Watch Case ! ! ! ! !I bought this EXTREMELY RARE Fahys Trench Watch Case last week and it arrived today.Fahys started making this design in 1917.You might see one or possibly two of these cases per year if you are lucky. What makes this case so rare is the weight and size, VERY rare to see them this big in a size 0s.It weighs 16.8 grams of sterling silver, your run of the mill size 0s sterling case is only about 11 grams and they are VERY thin gauge. The measurements are 40.5mm lug to lug, 33mm without the crown, 16mm lug diameter and the lugs themselves are 1.7mm thick. The crystal on this case is HUGE for a size 0s case, it takes a 28.5mm crystal ! ! !EVERYTHING about this case is HEAVY DUTY ! ! ! ! !But, as you can see the crown tube has been broken off and is in need of the LASER WELDER ! ! ! !So, I am going to bring it to my guy tomorrow and drop if off so a replacement crown tube can be installed. You will need a donor cas
pics and description from all around good guy Rob at watchbuysWe remember well the first time we saw a J?rg Schauer watch in person - at the 2000 Basel Watch Fair. It's hard to miss one of his watches - in fact, the person wearing the watch was explaining to an interested collector how the case is the best in the business. A watch from J?rg Schauer is big, bold and distinctive. It is immediately apparent that his cases are not the typical "generic milled case" used by so many brands. In fact, J?rg finishes every case himself, completely by hand. And the screws in the bezel are not decorative, but are actually part of the case construction.J?rg Schauer is both a watchmaker and a goldsmith by trade. Growing up in the Black Forest region of Germany, J?rg has been called a "mechanic freak" for his love of steel and bold designs. For example, the bezel of his watches are not polished to a high gloss, but instead left in their more natural state, with perceptible work markings.Schauer hails
I had my sub serviced a year ago and had a new dial and hands put in. The dial is legible all night, but compared to a 10 year old Omega, it's still pretty poor. Both watches exposed to same light all day. Says something about Omega quality.
Just found out from the AD in St. Thomas V.I. (i plan to purchase there in August)that the Pam 177 is discontinued. Wondering if there are any owners out there that have the new 564 and your thoughts.Love the idea of brushed case and brown dial to boot!!!!Thanks
