IWC 803 A wrist watches news:
Welcome to the 2015 ¡°Horology Halftime Show,¡± presented by hindsight. The official arrival of summer means that Baby New Year clich¨¦s are as dead as your old Synchronar 2100, and in our era of instant analysis, it¡¯s high-time for a look back at a few?of high horology¡¯s best moments so far. Sit back, read on, and celebrate the finest plays of 2015¡¯s first two quarters.Boldest Move: Patek Philippe Calatrava 5524G.While the speculative impact of the Apple Watch has inspired the largest volume of controversy during the year to date, the most intense debate raged around Patek Philippe¡¯s first take on the evergreen pseudo-vintage pilot¡¯s watch genre. The Patek Philippe Calatrava Travel Time 5524G left some very self-important folks tying themselves in knots and exchanging CAPS-LOCK carbine rounds in online fora. For that entertainment value alone, the more jocular members of the enthusiast fraternity collectively owe Thierry Stern a free round at his favorite watering hole in Plan-les-Ouates
Here are my Omega Watches as promised...in the Orbita.
Hi there,I want to know if I can get access to the dial of a seamaster watch if i open the case back. Thank you.
That would be both "funny haha " AND "funny strange ". I hadn't worn my Swiss Army since Sunday, so naturally, being an automatic, it stopped. Except it stopped at a most unusual time. Here's a picture:Yes, it is stopped at 10:10. No, I didn't do anything to the watch to make this happen. By my back-O'the-envelope calculation, there is only a 1 in 720 chance of this happening. Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket.....
I have always admired Omegas, sold/traded quite a few, but none actually sang to me. Gave my father a Seamaster Chrono for his birthday last year, toyed around with the idea of owning a 45.5 Planet Ocean, but never really pulled the trigger. Wasn't for the lack of opportunity, but rather lack of desire. Until now. When I saw this one, it was love at first sight. Nice and thick (14mm) just the right diameter, incredible legibility, and a moon phase to boot. As a first time Omega owner, I see what the hype is all about. This one is here to stay. Not my pic, on my iPad right now, but I already have several wristshots on my phone, will upload them tomorrow when in front of a (real ) computer. Love to be part of the club. Plus - this Speedy has some stiff competition with the other loved pieces in the ol' collection, but hasn't come off my wrist in the last week. And oddly enough, I love the manual wind. Gives it a 'vintage-y' feel, and gives me a chance to play with the watch one extra tim
