Ulysse Nardin’s San Marco minute repeater, introduced in the late 1980s, was a bold rebuke to the so-called “quartz crisis,” which at the time seemed to herald the obsolescence of the complicated mechanical wristwatch. This year, in advance of this spring’s Baselworld watch fair, Ulysse Nardin again struts its stuff as a producer of ornately designed chiming watches with the release of the new Carnival of Venice.Like the San Marco, the Minute Repeater Carnival of Venice takes its inspiration from Italy’s legendary “City of Canals.” It also uses minuscule automatons, called “Jaquemarts,” which are set into the dial and move in sync with the chiming of the activated minute repeater. Robot Watch Co.
As you noticed I like older unique watches "strange or one off companies". Here is one I came across. The watch is stainless steel and needed polishing and the hands where rusted. I re-blued the hands and put in new illuminating glue/paste within the hands. It cleaned up nicely and runs well.The Robot Watch Co. also called Robot Time Inc. was an import company based out of the New York City area from the late 40's to about the mid 50's. They imported movements and cases and assemblies the watches. The watches where considered to be a everyday mans watch "Cheap in other words". Many of theses companies start after WWII because the GI's applied and received loans through the GI Bill.I had to really dig around to find out any information on this company and watch, if anyone can add to the discussion that would be great. I like to gather as much history about any watch as I can. That's why I repair these not so popular watches so that to preserve their history.Note in the movement they pur

I saw a guy online who had a watch ¡°collection¡± his ¡°collection¡± consisted of 2 Rolex watches. A 14270 and a 16570. Something about that pairing just made a lot of sense. I admired the simplicity.

Original lug dimensions - are they available ?
The top question about pre-owned 5 digit Rolexes seems to be ¡°is it polished or over polished ?¡±Has anyone taken a dial caliper and measured and posted original factory lug thicknesses? Would make the over polish question answer more objective and less subjective. Hard to tell anything from pics most of the time.
