- I needed an every day watch that would hold up well. It's a bit heavier than I expected it to be, but I really like how it looks and it seems like it is going to last a long time!

Movado Movado 46973 wrist watches news:
One thing I've noticed in some of my Elgins from the 1950s is that the dials are curved. Now, this would not be a problem if they'd sunk the sub-seconds dial, but they didn't. This means that the second hand, when it comes up to the top of its motion, will scrape the dial if you push it too far onto the post. However, if you don't push it far enough, it falls off at the slightest bump, especially on a 55 year old watch that's been serviced a number of times.I have Fried's 'Watch Repairer's Manual', where he describes tightening the pipe on second hands by placing the open end in a concave conical stake in your staking set, and tapping lightly. I'm sure this would do the trick, IF I had a staking set! But I don't. So, anyone have any ideas how to tighten the pipe without crushing it in the absence of a staking set?BTW, in the course of taking down a bunch of 1950's Elgins, I've noticed another, more insidious problem that the dial curvature thing causes - bent 4th wheel pivots. Tried on the new 42mm all gold 18kpg offshore today... It is VERY heavy and just by memory and just by feel I do say it is heavier than my Rolex DDII!! I am kidding p, it is seriously heavy!! For those who like heavy watches, this is it! How can this be? .... The AP feels intensely heavy and dense. This is in the Singapore AP boutique. This particular watch I tried on is NOT for sale since a it is a demo only. They do start taking order for a new one delivery shouldn't be too long if anyone interested. Forgotten about the retail price, but my best price is less than SGD80k (around USD63k)... Good luck and happy hunting! jen
A lot of if you had all the money threads ... But keeping it relatively /comparatively affordable/ practical If you had to have a 5 watch collection 1) A daily wear watch / travel watch 2) A daily wear dressy watch 3) A dress watch 4) A complicated watch 5) A chronograph Trick is you have to keep it under 75,000$/70,000€/ 50,000¡êMine would be 1) Daily /Travel - Rolex GMT /Submariner2) Daily Dressy - Patek 5711/ AP 152023) Dress- Vacheron Patrimony /Patek 5196/Lange Saxonia 4) Complicated - Patek 3940 Perpetual /5205R Annual Calendar 5) Chronograph - Omega Speedmaster Professional Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hi guys, I just scratched my sapphire crystal on my 127. It's a small scratch, but a scar on my heart...Now I have googled and seen that you can remove it with diamond paste, but not to do it if you have an anti-reflective coating. Does the 127 have an anti reflective coating? Can't find any info on it?Thx
Just picked up the last year made random serial 16622... amazing. Heres my contribution
