Two new watchs for my vintage collection...
Just bought a 1956 automatic Bulova and an automatic Benrus at the antique store. Snapped some quick pics, take a look. On a side note, does anyone the approximate date of this Benrus. There isn't a serial number on the back, simply the letters "WR". Thanks guys!

well, I got my first big laugh of the day ......while perusing vintage watches over on the swamp......I ran across a lovely looking trench watch, with a sterling case ......while nice ...nothing funny there....it was the disclaimer that set me off....."disclaimer: If you are a novice, or unfamiliar with vintage watches, I urge you not to bid on this. Vintage watches are treacherous things & best left to those who like suffering & know what they're getting into. In fact, vintage watch people, like me, are nuts...this sale is AS IS , no returns ...."I love that ......

Speedy Pro Question
Hi Folks, proud owner of a 20th Anniversary Apollo 11 Speedy. 861 Movement.My question is, how many times should I be winding it to get it fully wound? It quit working so sent it off to Omega for service, my dealer said to wind it 40 times and it would be fully wound. I did this and the watch only ran a short time. Sent it back to Omega, they put it in quality control. The watch came back again....they said nothing was wrong with it. This time I can wind it with 200 turns of the crown and the watch will not run 24 hours before quitting.In addition, I can wind this watch 200 turns of the crown and there is no stop , as in the crown indicating the watch is fully wound. Before the watch was ever serviced I did get a stop on the crown.I did call Omega yesterday, they said something was not right and to send it back, yes. Again. What if anything am I doing wrong? Please help. Regards Al

How hard is 5167 to source in the UK ?
Decided back in May that my next purchase would be 5167 on rubber strap. My first Patek.I have an AP RO and do not what another bracelet watch hence not considered the 5711.My usual AD told me should have one coming in end June/July and it still has not arrived.Happened to pass another AD last week that told have one in but someone was ahead of me and was viewing it on monday. It turns out that is the bracelet version and the other person has passed on it. Now been given the hard sell that Patek will not be supplying these as rubber only option and if pay steel price they will throw in rubber strap and deployment in for free( Still 2k more then rubber only version)Can anyone shed anylight if Patek are controlling 5167 supply with just rubber straps. If this is really the case guessing my usual AD will probably not get one in near future ?I'm not really keen to source from overseas due to possible VAT hit and ideally want totally brandnew watch ( 1st owner )Any advise/thoughts would be
