Planet Ocean 8500 Crown Help
Hell All,Newbie here with a questions. I posted this on another watch forum as well:Hello,This is my first post in the forums! I have had a titanium SMP for about 10 years and loved it very much. I recently purchased the new planet ocean with the 8500 series movement. I had some concerns about the way the crown srews in on the new 8500 and was hoping some folks with planet ocean 8500 can help/chime in:When I screw in the crown it does not feel like it locks up very tight. It is also easy to unscrew as compared to my old SMP. Is this normal for the planet ocean 8500? Should I be concerned about the water tightness? Does Omega pressure test every watch after assembly? The watch is only a day old so I am feeling a bit stressed by this. Hope it is normal...Thanks in advance for your help!!-b

AP - Why all the Marketing Gimmicks ?
Many people would consider AP and Patek to be the top watch manufactures. Why does AP do so much limited editions and link with Athletes and events. Why can't they just let their watch stand by itself like Patek or Vacheron. APs are amazing watches and I fell all of the hype marketing lessens the brand.The other day I saw an interview with Theiry Stern and he said, we just want to make great watches with no gimmicks. It is true the Patek markets its company name, but it does not try to make each watch as a fashion or hyped out piece. AP seems more and more like Hublot to me these days. I am not referring to the style of the watch, but how they market themselves to brands such as Ferrari, Grand Prix, Swiss sailing team, athletes, etc.I don't want an athletes name on the back of my watch. I think it is clear why we don't see Royal oaks and Royal oak offshores selling at auction houses for increased prices. What happens when your grail gets no time?
For years, YEARS, I pined for a Rolex Submariner two tone (Bluesy). It was my grail and I did and do love the piece. I saved and final got it about 2 years ago.I also have the 50th anniversary sea dweller, which gets ALL the wrist time, I love it. The size, the proportions, you name it. Even when I try to take it off, I can't!Now my poor Bluesy sits in a safe, getting zero wrist time. I still love it, its a stunning, timeless piece, in my opinion. That being said, I just don't see it fitting me. I have a hard time finding a time to wear it, if that makes sense.So my question is, do I just sell it? That's a bit of cash tied up in something that while I love, never sees the lights of day.Thanks all.Yeti

how would you know your mainspring needs replacing
I bought a 2006 submariner and when I went to get it authenticated the AD said I need a new mainspring, is that included in a regular service? and how would i know he isn't lying just to get me to do a service, my watch seems fine but then again i wear it once a week and had it a monththanks again and this is last thread of the day for me! lol 4 in a row, im sure with experience my questions will be reduced! thanks
