TAG Heuer and Parsons The New School for Design have unveiled the winners of the ¡°Art of Watchmaking,¡± a 10-week competition that challenged eight teams of Parsons product design students to reinterpret TAG Heuer’s classic Monaco chronograph. During the review, each of the student teams showcased three concepts, and discussed their inspiration, target consumer and design philosophy. Need help with Vintage Marine Chronometer
We found an Omega Marine Chronometer in going through my Father-in-Law’s things this weekend. He is a veteran of the Coast guard and is in a nursing home now. As you can see in the attached picture, he has replaced the original band and the gold serial number plate as been lost. It is not running, but the housing does not appear to be compromised or damaged.I would appreciate any thoughts on the following before I send it in to Omega,…1)Can it be fully restored?2)How much (approx.) it would cost – for the band, serial number plate, possibly crystal and bezel?3)Estimated value (both before and after restoration).I understand that it's a somewhat rare and special watch, I would just like some more information and an idea of it’s true value before we start the process.
