Invicta 4899 wrist watches news:
I just visited Panatime, one of WTF's sponsors, and saw a huge collection of very nice looking straps....priced right (about $29.95)Question 1: What size strap does my 45.5mm PO take? I think it's a 22mm, but would like to make sure.Question 2: Do these after-market straps fit the PO as well as an Omega? I'm guessing yes, but again want to be sure before ordering.Question 3: Are these straps any good, will they last more than a year?TIA,DH
Just discovered you guys, those who frequent WUS Vintage may have seen these, but here goes-With a first name "Donald" I felt an urge to own my namesake watch. So several years ago I picked one up off the 'bay. After a while I grew dissatisfied with redials so sold it. Got an original dial but grew unhappy with it as it looked "dirty"-sold it. My search for birthyear Donald was difficult because I was born in 1953 and it seems they weren't made past 1952. A forum regular at WUS found this on the net- I look at it as being conceived (built) in'52 and born (first used) in '53 -like me! Also, I worked as a photographer for several years and I'm thinking that the Eastman Mfg was some part of Eastman Kodak (which used a variety of names). I'm willing to overlook the redial because of the date (but could use a new crown!). Anybody else with a Hamilton with their name? Birthyear? Both?Don
From the Times of London 5-12-08:A wristwatch which belonged to a Italian count who won Grand Prix races and was president of Ferrari fetched a record ?1.1million at auction today.Count Carlo Felice Trossi's large gold Patek Philippe timepiece sold at Geneva's Sotheby's sale for more than ?200,000 than expected. The "Trossi Leggenda", described as "almost certainly unique" by experts, was the star lot among nearly 200 watches.
Since I wasn't able to get a Silver snoopy (I had a deposit on one but no go) I decided on this instead (and I think I like it better!)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This was recorded at the Patek 175th anniversary exhibition in London. Thought I'd share it for those who didn't make it. Enjoy!https://youtu.be/ETs81vPKARgApologies for the quality. Was hand holding the gopro while trying to enjoy the video.
