Review of the Submariner 14060M COSC
Well guys, thought I would put finger to keyboard, and type a review of my one and only, plus current watch, The Submariner ref: 14060M COSC.My watch was purchased brand new from a Rolex AD and is a Z serial. It features the now COSC rated 3130 movement, and the Rolex Rolex Rolex engraved on the rehaut plus the serial number is also engraved at the 6 o'clock position again on the rehaut.The watch feature the LEC (Rolex coronet lazer engraved) on the crystal at the 6 o'clock position.Dealing first with the case. It features lug holes, the only current production Rolex with this "orginal feature" intact. Make it very easy to swap bracelets and gives it a nice retro look. The case edges are given the Rolex polishing treatment and looks like white gold imo. When the light catches the metal, the effect is extraordinary. Moving to the bezel, it features the "coin edge" finish with polished facets, again the way Rolex cuts the bezel edge is fantastic, as it seems to catch the light in an amaz

Why does Hamilton use odd lug width sizes?
Hello,I have owned numerous Hamiltons over the years and think they are a great watch. It makes me wonder why I used to spend >$1,000 for all those Omegas, Tudors, Breitlings, Oris etc when I get just as much enjoyment from <$500 Hamiltons.One pet peeve of mine, is on the Hamilton Jazzmaster Maestro. Why do they make these watches with a 23mm lug width and a 21mm deployant clasp? It makes it very difficult to replace the strap for something else and the 21mm deployant is almost useless if I decide to squeeze a 24mm aftermarket strap between the lugs as the strap end will be 22mm.They should have made the lugs 24mm or 22mm (like on my Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical with a case size of 44mm) as the 45mm Maestro could handle the 24mm lug width with ease.Any thoughts on this? I also have a Swiss Army Ambassador XL Handwind with 23mm lugs....so Hamilton is not the only company doing this type of thing.

Hi everyoneJust a little update on my AP purchase. Finally, the watch made it home. It wasn't an easy one but David was once again able to source the impossible. He was able to source a NIB 15300 forgotten somewhere. it is an old G series, but NEW, the impossible to source these days.Lucky enough, it is with me now and WOW, this is a real gem! Beauty of it can't be seen through pictures. Only in the hands and in the flesh, it does reveal it's true value and attention to details. I can never thank enough David for pursuing the quest of finding a LNIB, but ended up finding a NIB, even better :)This isn't the best of the pictures but as I have a busy day ahead and really wanted to share my experience, here it is.Cheers everyone.

Ferrari and Patek
I'm kind of curious about the relationship between Ferrari and Patek. I was at the AD the other day getting familiar with setting the moon phase and the technician was telling me how Ferrari and Patek were discussing creating a watch for Ferrari but the negotiations fell through.He was saying that normally sub-dials are in the 3,6,9 position but Ferrari wanted the dials to look like their dashboard. So, Patek designed the Nautilus 5712 to Ferrari's request. Then things went south and their relationship soured. Since PP had the movement they decided to sell the 5712. Now I have absolutely no proof of this and neither did the technician but the dash of my 360 does look like the sub-dials of the 5712. Can any of you confirm whether this is true?

Rolex AD Robbed Of It's Entire Inventory
This is my local AD right outside of Buffalo, NY. I've been a customer there for 30 years and I know several of the employees personally. (WIVB) ¡ª?On Friday night, Amherst police say four men went to the Reeds Jewelers on Maple Rd. and took all the Rolex watches.Police say the men, who were wearing ski masks, smashed glass cases with sledgehammers during the incident.Customers and workers were there at the time, but no one was threatened or hurt, police say. Staff members were able to get everyone into a back room.The men left in a red van with no license plates.One of the watches was later found in the parking lot of a nearby motel, police say.
