Hello all, I am very much new to this whole world of watches but am very intrigued. I've been checking out this forum for awhile now and retaining all I can. I am wanting to brake into the watch collecting with a nice dress watch. The two brands that stick out to me now that I like are Tissot and Hamilton. These are the two that I like the most. I would like to hear some opinions and pointers if at all possible. Thanks in advance.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1364708087.686267.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1364708110.940047.jpg
Esrange offered up a Benrus automatic in a thread a month ago. I have had Benrus 3 star models on my list for a while but couldn't find a good match on Ebay, so I jumped. A little polish and a crown later:A few case issues aside, the dial is spectacular, the crystal polished up better than average and after prying apart the rusted two-piece stem, it has responded well to a little TLC.Its hard to get a good shot of the movement with that big rotor always in the way.Special thanks to Esrange, Joel
That those who are obsessed with accuracy knowingly buy watches that they will accept as being not perfectly accurate? There are plenty of excuses for this stange behavior and I am also guilty-but it is a bit odd.Especially in these days of radio-controlled light powered timepieces that seem perfect for the AO (accuracy obsessed) WIS.And ,please ,no talk of automatics having a "soul".If any movement has a soul it is the solar powered movements who get their "life" from a natural source and need no assistance from anything but natural power to keep them alive.Automatics are forever on a "life support system" and depend fully on a WIS to keep them alive.Have at it!!!
Hi everyone, So I did it! I had previously considered trading my BLNR towards the 233. However, after much soul searching and great input from all especially Pattyb69, rolexlover85, and Mr. Kram for helping me move forward in the process. I decided to trade my 111 instead. Can't wait for FedEx to get here on Monday. I conducted the trade with Gil known here as TWCNY. Pics of the incoming from his listing.
