IWC Aquatimer Watches New For 2014
The "new way" at IWC is to make each year themed. Last year was the year of the Ingenieur while the year before that was year of the pilot watch. 2014 at IWC will be the year of the Aquatimer, so expect to see a fully re-launched collection of some of the nicest high-end tool watches around. Actually, before we move on to discuss a preview of the 2014 Aquatimer watches I want to clarify my previous statement. While for the most part IWC shows the media only pieces of a specific family (i.e. Aquatimer), it isn't true that they don't release other new models. Those merely wait until later in the year to be released. Anyhow, back to our excitement over the new Aquatimers. UPDATE: watches-dealer has new 2014 IWC Aquatimer watch information with additional details and models here.It was back in 2009 that IWC last revisited the Aquatimer, and the collection was nice but a bit controversial. Why controversial? Nothing was wrong with the pieces but some people felt that they were too colorful.

Pocket Watch Restoration
Most of you are familiar with the fine sponsors on the forum so I need your advice or opinions I have a Tavannes pocket watch that belonged to my grandfather that needs major restoration. Are any of the sponsors into pocket watch restoration or do any of you know of a reputable company that I can send it to for an estimate on restoration? I know it needs the small seconds hand and a crystal It will run when wound but not for long so I suspect all pivot points are gummed up. The back screws off but I cannot see a serial # stamped anywhere on the movement. inside the back there are numbers and what appears to be an indication that there were only 30 made. Thanks for the help.

Planet Ocean Chrono Olympic v Planet Ocean Ti Lm 8500
Just picked up the new Planet Ocean 8500 Titanium Liquid Metal today and I love it. The color is extremely difficult to capture in photos, it's a dark blue color which I love. The case and bracelet are lightweight but feel very solid. Overall I am really pleased with the new addition. Since the boneheads at Rolex won't make a blue ceramic sub in SS, this one has scratched my itch perfectly for a blue dial watch.

resale value : Patek versus Lange
