Richard Mille unveils a new limited edition of his automatic diver¡¯s watch, designed for and exclusively available at retailers in North and South America. The RM 028 Americas is a 30-piece edition featuring red and white details on a black DLC titanium case. Look inside for wallpaper, pricing, and launch dates. With the introduction of the RM 028 in 2009, Richard Mille combined the exceptional case and skeletonized movement that are his hallmarks with the specific features required by divers. The RM 028 adheres to diver¡¯s watch ISO norm 6425 with water resistance of 300 meters (30 ATM) and a unidirectional bezel. Please welcome Mr. ?lker ?zcan who will collaborate with aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer on a few articles discussing materials and processes used in watch cases and other components. Ozcan is a professional Materials Engineer and owns a small R&D company (ndsgnwatches-dealer) - and he loves mechanical watches and loves the exotic materials used in those watches. The purpose of this article series is to enlighten watch lovers about many aspects of watch materials so that everyone can make more educated decisions about the watches they are buying. Now on to Mr. Ozcan:In this first article I have chosen to start with Titanium. Titanium has recently become very popular in high-end watches, and it is not without reason. Probably more types of properties than you have heard of if you are not a materials e

This is my first post on this forum, so please bear with me if I make any rookie mistakes. I’ve been interested in buying a Rolex for a while. I recently received a promotion and am comfortable enough financially to buy a nice watch for myself. I work in financial services and am normally in a suit or blazer (sometimes tie, sometimes no tie) M-Thurs and dress classic casually Fri-Sun.What I want in a Rolex is a “nice” watch that can go seamlessly between suits and more casual occasions that is not too “showy” or “obvious,” yet still retains value well and is easily recognized as a nice, quality watch. In addition, I don’t really have interest in complications and such - I want a watch that will tell the time and maybe show a date. As a result, I am shying away from Submariners (very ubiquitous in my industry, seems too “showy”) and I am even hesitant about the GMT (a model that I’ve kind of dreamt about for years). IR
