Hi I am a newbie to the forum and am thinking of getting the top gun 2007. Has anyone have the watch or any views on this. Also is the base movement a 7750
Hello folks, I am lately spending more and more time reading good watch books (JLC, Zenith). I wish to find a good book on LUC but Google was not my friend this time. The only one I could find was "Chopard: The Passion for Excellence" by Salome Broussky, Helmut Stelzenberger which, by any WIS standards is pure disappointment. Large hi-res pix, little if any text and you can forget the history or detailed collector records. So, help me on this one - have you seen/do you know of a proper LUC "bible" book? Thanks you
I understand that this is the Patek sub forum, so many will probably say 5711a, however a bit of background to provide context:-My AD (and longtime friend) believes he will be able to get me a 5711a white dial sometime this year. Nothing written in stone and of course with the current crazy market and shortages, it may or may not happen. The DayDate40 would be yg with sliver deconstructed romans. -This would be for my wife, she did not really know much about watches before meeting me, now she's just as enthusiastic about them as I am.-She currently wears a 116613 two tone blue submariner as her daily watch, and also has a Cartier santos, which is also two tone. -She has always liked the 5711, ever since I showed a picture to her many years ago, however we were not in the position to buy back then. She also really likes the DayDate and has tried it on numerous times. She has tried on a 5711r, but has never seen the 5711a in person.-We both wear our watches everyday and try not to baby t
I was just looking around for a watch which was abit casual, yet still has that it factor (history, quality or awesome design? I have no idea how to describe the it which makes a Pam what it is). I settled on a panerai radiomir, due to its slightly dressier styling than the luminor and slimmer profile. Either a 380, 337 or a 512 are models which I would consider. But I want to mix it up abit and compare other watches in that price range which might be an alternative to the radiomir and I've come up lacking.... A couple of brands which I've looked at: 1. bell & Ross (their square cases seem bulky and the fact that the screws done line up would drive me mad)2. margarette (yes. They are much more affordable and I've owned one before... But it just didn't do much for me). So my question is, have you had a serious alternative before when you were considering getting a panerai? And why?
