Invicta 10716 wrist watches news:
Just picked up a Seiko 6309-7049. (i didn't even know what it was called before my research here)First thing i did was to take it to my watchmaker and get it cleaned and serviced along with new seals and a pressure test.It runs great about +3 seconds a day I know nothing about Seiko's except for my monsters but saw this and had to have it. Its pretty beat up .......should i change the bezel? Where would i get one if i should? Its a got a few scratches in the crystal, should i get that changed as well? Again where do i find one? Should i polish the case? It appears that it never has been polished as all edges are still sharp. Anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated
Well, I'm not - but my Corum Temps Mecanique is. I bought it a few years ago off eBay, and the seller did a masterful job of hiding (or Photoshopping out) the damages. Then they disappeared. My credit card company covered me though, and now this poor thing is off to Corum for a spa treatment. Here are the "before" shots.Scratches and scuffs all over the place, including the polished bezel:Missing crown guards and more scratches:Did somebody try to open this with a chisel?:It's one of the few two tone watches I like (the others being the Rolex Sub and IWC Portofino) so we'll see how it turns out. Full details including pics & prices upon return. ps - Maggie in the NY office and Victor in the CA location were both very pleasant to deal with. Let's see if Corum's work measures up to the politeness of their staff.
The local AD suggested that I keep all the packaging for the watches if the time comes to sell them. The reason is that buyers like to have the complete package, OK. Recently I have been buying Casios and these are not like the packaging that mechanicals come with. I've not sold a Casio in all my years of watch wearing so accumulating these boxes seems like more lost shelf space. OTOH, I have a few old Casios from the 80's that if I had the plastic box they came in might make a for a good collectible sale. With the new Casio watches, would you keep the boxes?
Hey guys I had asked Jim Skeleton over on his forum if you could damage a watches movement by adjusting the hands backwards on an automatic and or a mechanical watch and he said yes you can. So I would'nt do it, even though some people here said it was fine but just as a precaution don't because you probaly well at some point and you will be kicking yourself in the but if the movement breaks.
Question for you guys, the cycles of these watches were 1997-2007... then 2007-?Meaning this could be the last year of the aquanaut?I¡¯m not certain of these dates, so pardon me if I¡¯m wrong. But finding one was truly a mission. I called most of the ADs on the Patek website. None had it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
