Raven Deep Tech Review
When last we took a look at Raven Watches, they had just released two interesting models; the Raven Vintage and the Raven Deep. The Vintage was an homage to the Rolex Submariner ref. 6538, famously worn by Sean Connery as James Bond in Dr. No, that utilized a domed acrylic crystal, gilt hands and other specific details to make for a very fun watch. The Raven Deep took elements of various historical models, such as the 6538 and the 5517 mil-sub, and mixed them together to create a cool chimera with a high water resistance at 4000ft or 1220m. Between the two watches, there was a lot to like, including great build quality, exceptional lume and fairly tame prices.Following up on these watches, they have now released the Raven Deep Tech, which builds off the Deep model concept, for a new hybrid style with a massive 8200ft/2500m water resistance. VERY Rare WWI Waltham General Joffre Trench Watch w/ Crystal Guard
Hey guys.I just finished up restoring an extremely rare WWI Waltham Trench Watch.This is a GIANT 39mm Semi-Hermetic "General Joffre" with Swivel Lugs.A few things make this one stand out.First is the enamel military dial, Waltham made VERY few size 6s shadow box enamel military dials and this one has the original skeleton hands to boot.I have only seen a very small handful of these 6s dials but they are common for sizes 6/0s, 3/0s and 0s.This is the ONLY time that I have seen this dial on a General Joffre case.I re-lumed the hands using Bergeon luminous material.Second is the movement, a size 6s with 16 jewels featuring a solid gold center wheel, solid gold jewel chatons and solid gold balance wheel screws.Usually when you see a 6s Waltham Trench Watch the jewel count is much lower.According to Waltham company records this was the FINEST size 6s movement that was made during the Great War years, it did not get any better than this!Threaded case so the bezel and case back screws on and

As reading some thread that went ugly on the "style copy" I was wondering:Who was the first in all the designs and innovations?Somewhere I read that the first Diver style watch was the Blancpain 50 Fathoms, and that Breitling came out with the first Chronograph...Please educate me, and post what you know, and please leave the debate of the copies/knock-offs/replicas, etc. out of this thread :)
