Not Technically An Omega...
Back around 1930, the Omega/Tissot watch company formed (or merged to become) the SSIH Company. This company went on to include, amongst others, Lemania and Lanco.Omega was the working mans watch and Tissot and Lanco were sold in the up-scale luxury department stores such as Macy', etc.This marriage lasted until 1985 when SSIH merged with SMH (Longines/Rado), re-organized and became The Swatch Company.During the period 1930 to 1985, this Lanco was the upscale sister Chronograph to the Omega Chronographs of the day. Possibly the great success and popularity of the Speedmaster introduced in 1957 was the driver that caused Swatch to drop great names and watches such as this.This one is 45 years old, runs flawlessly, and resides in the Omega box with it's more famous brothers and sisters..

Post them all here!Pardon me while I get the ball rolling.....After ages of trying to understand which cushion was which I think I got it figured out and decided I wanted one as old as possible.Here's the result (and experts please let me know if I've got it wrong)....ebay image, my watchc1926 14K white gold filled Cushion Plain with 986A movement and luminous dial/hands. Although this model was first catalogued in 1926, the movement in this example dates to 1924. So I figure it was either an old stock movement in 1926 or a later replacement. I'd like to think that the lume on the numerals and hands is original - or at worst an excellent refinish. (I've not seen other old-time lume refinishes that match the numeral outlines so well; they always seem to look puffy and uneven). Whatever the case, I've been wanting an early Cushion for a long time and happy to provide a home for this one. I think I'll leave her just as she is.

AP complication piece
Currently consolidating my watch collection to a few choice pieces.I have the sports and the openworked area sorted so I would like to add a complication piece, initial love would be the ceramic RO PC but no chance of that! So I have found myself looking at the PP 5164a and 5990a ok I know the Aquanaut isn¡¯t really a major complication with just the dual time but it and the 5990a are the only two PP¡¯s I really like.So moving back to AP, there is the ROC and the RO dual time which is now discontinued, I did expect to see a 41mm variant released this year but sadly no.My only issue with AP is all the pieces sub ¡ê60k are all based on the standard SS RO case bracelet and know tha lt would be too similar and I would just keep favouring the 15407st.After this all the more diverse models tend to result in the use of a tourbillion and a price tag to match.I guess my ideal releases would be a ceramic or another Pt/Ti variant ROC, a Pt/Ti RO PC, or I¡¯d love a more affordable/obtainable RO Cerami

Panerai newbie question
I've taken in a PAM 111 on a trade and it's my first Panerai. It's a 2005 model and I don't believe it has ever been serviced. It seems to be running fast, 30 seconds a day. I love the watch and am not sure what I should do - the previous owner offered to take it to a watchmaker to have it regulated but recommended against opening it up. Is this normal for an older Panerai? Should I get it serviced by Panerai instead? Do nothing and just enjoy it?Advice would be appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Daytona prices plummet with new release...
Watching Lord Sugar wearing his ceramic Daytona last night a thought passed through my mind...When Rolex announce their revised Daytona next, the one with the minor tweaks to give it a new reference, will the market be flooded with the old ceramic model (the current one) by all those owners who then must have the new kid on the block?Those owners are currently sitting pretty in the knowledge they can sell their used Daytona at a premium, but will its value suddenly drop the day the new model is announced, as thousands panic sell to get the best price they can before their Daytona market plummets? If I were Rolex I'd be thinking... Hmmm... that was a great success. Let's tweak it a little, push the price up a little, and get it to market soon. Then, repeat every couple of years.What you you think the Daytona's life-cycle is, and the effect the next ceramic model will have on prices of the first one?
