Hello...posted a couple of previous posts , but now I am pretty close to pressing the button on a Speedmaster - one problem though - there is a few of them , and since the shops do not have most of them , its only looking at pics and specs on websites - and ofcourse your helpFirstly the relevance of the professional in a speedmasterAlso , what are the major differences between these3210.50.00 0 -40mm so slightly smaller than others but I think it will do, has date , but is automatic at a good price - the face looks like it has a lighter black circle in the middle ( GBP 1560 )3220.50.00 - has day too , otherwise very similar to above , GBP 1810 )3570.50.00 - Cheapest Pro , same price as above , no date , 42mm , ,manual wind which in my eyes is a small negative ( GBP 1920 )311.30.44.50.01.002 - the Pro , 44mm , co axial system , still not sure if it means same as automatic but I think both are movement wound , the Pro face seems slightly cleaner and it has a glass back , GBP 2870311.30.4
I know its expensive. In fact very expensive. No, it's stupidly expensive. But;I just love it.I always wanted a PP with officers style case. And the the magazine arrived...With the 5227 in.So called the local AD, a friend. One had just come in that day. I'll go and have a look, but only will be interested if in yellow gold...It was in yellow gold. That was Thursday. I said I would think about.Friday pm I went back....I will take it I said.....And my AD then said that's good, someone came in this morning and wanted to buy it, the AD said it was taken for...I saved up and paid bit by bit. Bit by bit.I wear it all the time now. It's scratched and a bit battered in places..it's been up mountains and across moors. And the straps a bit worn allready. But in my opinion it is the definitive Patek. The 'rolex explorer' of the PP line...Yes it's expensive....
I've been thinking about getting a Panerai. It will be my first and only Pam. It has to be a 3 hander with a sandwich dial. I will admit that is a classic Panerai look, and indeed it looks very good. However, I am a complication type of guy who likes rotating bezel, chrono, etc.So the question is, if you like complication in your watches, does the basic 3 handers Panerai become boring after a while???PS. I rule out chrono Pams since it just doesn't look right to me. the flyback does look very good, but is out of my price range.TIA,anthony
