Invicta 5510 wrist watches news:
Scanned in some books from the collection I got. Came across this one which could be interesting. Looks like a catalog of dials.Just thought I should share it with Ya'll
Just arrived yesterday. Still need to get the bracelet sized.Tech SpecsOrient Star Retrograde- 4o hour power reserve-Sapphire Crystal with anti-relflective coating-Movement-ORIENT caliber 40A50 Made in Japan [22 jewels | 21600/hour vibrations]-Diameter 39.5mm without crownPicturesVery nice padded boxSubtle dial work. Orient offers the choice of a black dial or this cream dial. I chose the cream hoping that it would show more of the dial decorations and it looks like I was right.Closer look. I realy like the chrome highlights around the sub-dials.Another close look. What is the secret of getting a clear shot of the crown markings?Slightly domed sapphire crystal.Dual push clasp.A look at the clear case back and the works.Lume shot.
Hmmm, I spent a big chunk of Saturday cruising ADs: Breitlings, Corums, IWC, Bedat, Omega, Rolex, Chopard and on and on. Then I watched the watch shows on that TV channel. My conclusion: there's no watch that really floats my boat. Nothing I actually want to acquire. I tried on the new IWC DaVinci and several other pieces I thought I wanted. I came away impressed, but unenthusiastic. Perhaps I have reached my saturation point - where all watches start looking like each other, blending together in one horological blur. It's odd not to have a Watch Want List.My passion for horology isn't waning, but I suspect it is morphing. And I'm not sure into what.I'm considering aggressively expanding my Tudor range, chasing vintage JLC's, Omegas or.even Rolex. Rolex at least has a viable secondary market.Or maybe I'll go German. But I think my days of randomly tasting many brands are over - at least for the moment. I also have little interest in the low-end, mid-range stuff. Now this isn't the natural
I found this to be interesting. It looks like Rolex enters the picture with Ike. https://.hodinkee/articles/pe...president-ever
So a little bit of a back story before I go into the thread. I bought a 11660 1999 Sea Dweller a few weeks ago. Loved the watch and it worked great, but it appeared to run a bit fast, 15 seconds a day fast to be precise. The jewelry store I bought it from gave me a 1 year warranty on it that they provide, so I bring it in. Get it back, running at +3s a day now, great! 1 week later, its New Years Eve, 6pm, and I notice my watch has stopped running. Weird, maybe my reserve wasn't as full as I thought. I wind it and move on with my night. 2 days later its stopped, 2 days after that, stopped. I feel as tho I really can't hear the rotor spinning if I give the watch a little whirl, although when it stops, giving it a little swirl gets it to run, but only for a few seconds, which doesn't seem right. I digress. I bring it to the jewelry store, they agree thats not right but informed me the watchmaker they use for Rolex is off until the 17th, and that I could just bring it back in then, or leav
