On March 10, Antiquorum Auctioneers will offer a range of important modern and vintage timepieces at its U.S. headquarters on Madison Avenue in New York City. The sale will include a unique yellow-gold Patek Philippe ref. 2419 minute-repeating wristwatch retailed by Cartier in 1950. This timepiece is accompanied by a Cartier certificate of authenticity. The Patek minute repeater is estimated at $300,000 to $500,000.The wristwatch is offered in pristine condition and its originality is confirmed by the Patek Philippe extract of the archives which states that the watch was manufactured in 1946 as a minute-repeating wristwatch with a specially made movement. 2 watches I recently "inherited"
Hi,Today my mom and dad showed up with two watches they found in my grandma's house (she just moved to a retirement home). They came to me first because they know I love watches and because I know more about watches than them (which is still almost nothing). The first one is an Omega Gen¨¦ve ladies watchand that's about as much as I can tell from just looking at it; no serial numbers whatsoever. I did wind it so it is a automatic watch (or a winding watch? I will get back on that with the second watch). If anyone can tell me anything about this watch it would be great!The second one is easier to identify. It is a Certina Automatic Blue Ribbon men's watch. There are some numbers on the back but I don't know which ones are serial numbers and whether or not it's safe to put them online (I've got no experience on this...).
