- This is the first time that my husband is able to wear a watch. I have been looking for a watch like this for years and just thought they didn't make them any more. Love it.

Invicta 6110 wrist watches news:
Okay, so I'm considering a Seamaster Chrono Diver and one thing that gives me pause is the Caliber 1165 which is a re-worked Valjoux 7750. It's a bit inelegant, heavy, and I even hear you can feel it wobble on your wrist. That said it is quite the rugged and reliable workhorse and as a result is used extensively by many manufacturers. Not sure how extensively Omega modifies it for their use - some claim less, some claim more, but for some reason it bugs me a little that there are $500.00 watches out there with the same basic Valjoux movement. Outsourcing a movement is fine for say Hamilton, but with a timepiece in the class of Omega I eel I should expect more. Am I out of my head here? Also, I have to wonder if Omega is not developing a replacement for the Cal 1165. I have nothing to base that on other than my gut, and I understand there are impediments to bringing a new chronograph movement into production, but I have to think that would be in Omega's sights sooner rather than later. I noticed it made an appearance yesterday...is it a keeper?
Before you become nauseated at the thought of intentionally marrying non-original parts listen to the circumstances. Let's say you've been looking for a certain vintage piece for a long time. You've found the dial, hands, and movement in one frankenwatch. The case is part of another frankenwatch. Would you try to buy both and put the proper pieces together? Technically it would still be a franken, but it would be a rescued from two worse frankens. Don't pull any punches - let's hear your opinions.
Hello my lovely people from TRF. I wanted to start this 2014 with an isnteresting poll. What do you guys think? Who has the better piece? Comments and pics are welcome.
I understand no one has crystal ball, but how well do you think a White Gold with Hobnail Bezel and seconds hand Calatrava 3919-G will hold its value in future? They can still be had for slightly under $10k, since they are not produced anymore, will prices continue to rise or doubtful?I want one in future since I really really like it, but if prices are pretty sure to rise I may just pick up now as they are not produced anymore.Chuck
