Forgive the noob question, but I have to ask.I have a PAM 111 that I recently purchased. Tonight, I inspected it in my dresser and noticed it was stopped. I picked it up to wind it and the second hand began to move. I was under the impression that a manuel watch needed to be hand wound and an automatic watch operates by self winding. Can someone clarify and explain why the pam 111 movement began to operate once I picked it up and began to move it around a bit? Thanks, Cooksomerice
I've reached the point where I pretty much have the styles of inexpensive vintage watches and affordable new watches that I'm interested in covered, and only really have two things I'm interested in. First would be a vintage Omega of undetermined model, second is a vintage Longines, model also undecided. So here are the questions:While purchasing the inexpensive vintage watches that I like, I ended up duplicating a couple - not exactly, but similar. There's only one that doesn't really generate interest when I look at it, but there are a couple that I do like quite a lot, but are pretty similar to one another. So, would you flip any, and if so, would it be just the one that doesn't catch your eye like it did in the photos, or that one plus one or two that you like, but are very similar to others?
I just picked up my Hamilton that I sent in for service after crystal cracking incident.WOW, now the watch is better than new.I thought it was very pricy to replace the crystal but it turned out to be complete overhaul.Service includes, new dial/chapter ring, new hands, new basel, new crystal, polishing, regulating, pressure testing (I'm assuming), and god knows what else. Now it's better than it was before. Previously chapter ring was a little off and chronograph hands were not centered. After the service, everything is dead centered. I had many nicks and scratches and they are all gone. Only thing I noticed was some of the edges got smoother due to over polish but isn't too bad.I am very pleased with the service and will send them again if something happens. Def. worth extra money. Pictures will follow later today.
...courtesy of FlyPenFly:There was also a Diver present, but apparently that one didn't qualify to pose with the Jumbos:(there he is...)Regards,Adam
