Sometimes you just want a good reptile skinned watch, but they can be so hard to find. Why? Well us Americans get kind of bent out of shape about it. Yes, I am all for Animal rights. Frankly I would put Animals above humans in many regards, but when it comes to animals that are raised, just to be killed for their "parts," sure it is cruel, but it is not really damaging to the environment. It would be different if you had guys going out into the jungle to kill pythons just for their skin. That would be bad, really bad. But when you farm the creatures for it? Well then if you are against that, then you are against eating chickens (cause they are raised just to be killed too).?? I am now expecting a slew of angry e-mails and comments. I can't find any talk on this subject outside of the PP forum, so I thought I'd bring it up here and see what sort of opinions are out there.For those of us unfamiliar with the Geneva Seal -The Geneva Seal is a designation that is given to Swiss watches (made in the canton of Geneva), that meet exacting specifications of quality. Patek watches have received the seal for years and PP has been its biggest champion. Recently, PP has decided to abandon the Geneva Seal for its own designation, the Patek Philippe Seal. Over the past few years, other "inferior" brands have qualified for the Geneva Seal, which, in some opinions sullies the designation. PP has set a standard for themselves which is more exacting than the standards of the Geneva Seal, and include requirements for the precision of the entire watch, including the cased movement.So the purpose of this post is to generate some discussion and opinions. What are your opinions on the new Tudor black bay?
What do you guys think of the new black bay range released at Baselworld this year?In my opinion the whole concept doesn't make sense. In recent years it would seem that Tudor have been attempting to move away from the tudor shield logo and towards the (better looking, in my opinion) vintage tudor rose. However on the new black bay range tudor has reverted to the more modern looking shield. Why? This makes no sense when considering the vintage riveted bracelet look, (which I think is a little tacky as the rivets serve no purpose and are simply there for aesthetics.) Do Tudor want old or modern? Finally the curved text has been scrapped and replaced with straight text. This is a little too Rolex for my liking. I really thought Tudor were trying to break away. Are Tudor struggling to decide what they want the black bay to be? Comparison New vs Old
