Chopard 283581-5001 wrist watches news:
I want "luxury" to die. Not actual luxury from an economic standpoint, but a lot of how we use the actual word "luxury." Allow me to set up this topic just a bit, and explore my ideas with you. I promise that in the long run my suggestions will benefit everyone, and this is free advice to an industry that I think needs it.I write about timepieces, lots of different timepieces including many that are high-end. "High-end" having the association that they are perhaps well-made, use expensive materials, are exclusive, and cost a lot. You know"luxury." What cheapens many of these brands is that they attach the term "luxury" to their image and products. Cheapening not only the word "luxury," but also the products themselves. Things aren't "luxury" because you insert that word into your slogan. Nothing is worse for luxury watches than the term "Luxury Swiss Watches" next to a brand name as a slogan. I having been looking for replacement hands for this watch for quite some time. I have seen quite a few for the newer ref 806, with the triangular ends, on the hands. But, not this earlier style. So, I am thinking that it would be easier to restore these hands.Does anyone have a suggestion, who to send them to? Or other?
I just noticed something regarding the hands of my PO today. I was looking at the hands closely under strong light and can see the edges of the hands looks like its not cut cleanly...you know how a beat up knife edge would look like. Is this normal?!
Apologies, I'm sure it must have been asked before.I'm going to buy a new rolex from an AD I haven't used before. I'm sure they're reputable, or at least, I assume they are and they're linked from Rolex AD site. What would be sensible due diligence to do at the shop when I pick up the watch?Compare serial number on the paperwork with the watch (is it in an easy to read place on the watch?)Any other common sense stuff should do?
