Invicta 21761 wrist watches news:
I just shot this one on a lark (Actually, the Epi-Lark.)
Is the vintage watch going the way of the postage stamp?170 years ago the British Royal Mail started distributing the first postage stamps. Quite a few of these stamps achieved values of more than US$ 1.5 millions over time. However, the market for stamps is imploding. The reason being that there are many ageing collectors wanting to dispose of their collections and too few new collectors entering the game. A traditional generational gap. In a not too distant future people will not be collecting stamps anymore¡..What if today¡¯s vintage watch is the postage stamp of the future? What if the age of collecting vintage watches is behind us? Questions that at this moment in time do not have an answer. However these questions are valuable enough to be contemplated in more detail. There are a few factors impacting the vintage watches trade negatively. The first factor being that ageing collectors of vintage watches especially in Europe try to cash in on their collections. And we see a dearth o
I have a friend at work from a former Soviet block country. After a recent visit home she returned with a pocket watch. It was rather dirty so I offered to clean it up. My skills are limited so I do not know how to remove the movement from the case. I would like to clean a few loose particles off the dial. Anyone have any thoughts? I removed the stem and case screws but the movement would not fall out. Here are a few pictures.
It is a bit ironic that my first post on the Rolex forum is about an Omega. After years and years of admiring the PloProf, I happened upon this gem on ebay Saturday night. A one owner, all original example with a great provenance from an IMCA member. Needless to say, I am thrilled with the watch which makes it a lot easier to sell a few pieces to make room for this beast! It will be right at home with its Rolex counterparts Apologies for the poor pics.
Both use the 27SC movement, both are beautiful, but there isn't much info on the 2508. I love both of these watches and am wondering which you all prefer and why? All things being equal, sweep seconds, metal, etc.. which is more valuable? Thanks!
