Jacob & Co. 5.00 Carat Bezel - 47mm wrist watches news:
Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after.watches-dealer (ABTW): Who are you and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Magnus Michelsen (MM): I¡®m the brother, son, grandson and great-grandson of watchmakers. Although I¡®m not a watchmaker myself, I've grown up admiring and working with watches. I am the Marketing Director of the Icelandic micro-brand Michelsen, the country¡®s oldest watch firm.ABTW: What was your first grail watch?MM: I¡®ve craved for a few watches, most of them relatively simple, like the blinged edition of Rolex GMT-Master II (116759SARU) and some Tags with Calibre S or Calibre 17 movements. My first real grail watch is the A. Lange & S?hne Datograph.ABTW: What did you like so much about the watch?MM: It¡®s simply a spectacular watch. The movement is so extraordinary beautiful. The brand itself is nothing less than
Swiss watchmaker and jeweller Piaget is a proper wrist in the pop star Mika in the music video for her single "rain ' album The Boy Who Knew Too Much." The day before, which gets a fair bit or screen time in the video, is the version of chocolate dial of the Altiplano 40 mm. The Altiplano ultra-thin model is a standard-bearer of Piaget and this variant is not much press it's nice to see the watch out and about. Apart from the color of the dial and gold 18 carats of rose of the case, this model is the same in all directions as the regular Altiplano.
Just got it this afternoon and it is a pretty thing. Will make an nice addition to the collection.Hope you enjoy the photos!
I thought this was pretty cool and that some might enjoy....Found this while I was at my company Christmas Party was at the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL. It must have been over 15 feet tall!!
So let me start out by saying that I am a man of modest means. I am a public school teacher and spend significant time saving and selecting each purchase. With that preface out of the way my current collection consists of a 16750 matte dial that is currently being serviced, a white dj41 smooth bezel on oyster, and a nomos metro. So I have two lines of thinking here that I would welcome opinions on. 1. I do not have a true dress watch, so I was thinking about the new cartierultra thin in steel that comes out this fall or a reverso. I need it to be fairly versatile as I do not often need a true dress watch. 2. Sell my collection and put it towards one Grail piece. Either the do journe chromatic blue or patek nautalis or aquanaut. Or even a stainless skydwller. Just what I have been mulling over recently and would love any input/feedback. Thanks.
