Jacob & Co. JC-1 wrist watches news:
Hi guys,Thanks to a sweet wedding gift from the in-laws, I'm now a proud owner of my first Rolex. Now truth be told I'm not a Rolex man. In fact, I'm not brand man. I grew up staring at my fathers Rolex and had always associated the brand with grand daddies and other stuffy old timers whom enjoy single malts in cigar lounges. I blow big bucks only branded goods with an electrical circuit, and generally refuse to do so on anything that doesn't.So when my father in-law insisted on getting my wife and I matching Rolex's as a wedding gift 2.5 years ago, I turned down the offer as I was content with my current el cheapo Seiko. Only recently my wife decided she needed a watch and so persuaded me to belatedly accept. If I were to choose a watch to blow dollars on, I would have personally chosen a more sporty brand like Tag Hauer. I didn't expect to see any Rolexes that would actually catch my eye so I was pleasantly surprised to come across this one! A Rolex that actually looks quite contempor
Now with the release of the new Explorer II at Basel, do you still prefer the old or the new model? For me the old model still looks better with the 40mm case.
Check out issue 2 of The Watch Magazine in the Newsstand app. They have an article on the 40th anniversary of the royal oak. Admittedly, it isn't a great read but free to download and something else to read if you can't get enough of AP articles.
On a rare day off, all my chores and housework done, 30k ride on fat bike done and Mrs Van D on her way from Basel to Barcelona via London. What does young Ruud do with himself? I know, let's go to OP. The head of retail for all of Asia is in for a couple of days and proceeded to drool over my 689. After talking to him, it's left me realising exactly how lucky I am to have scored a 689. They're all gone from from the OP boutiques around the globe, every single one. And there's no plans for another at this time. Next it was time to do some hunting. I had a play with the 687, 389 and my beloved 533. I think I need another watch box..........
Size, bracelet, dial, bezel - hundreds of different possible configurations...I know ADs are sent stock each month but is it possible to order a particular configuration?Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
