I find it amazing that a Rolex watch passion can bring us together at a GTG!
20 years ago, I doubt anyone got together to celebrate their love of Rolex watches. I bet it was unheard of then, yet today and because of the internet, we have GTG's many times a year.I wish there were more WIS's in the Washington DC area. It would be great to have one in my home town. Going out of town to one is not easy for me anymore but I'm glad I at least got to the one GTG in NYC last year to get a taste of the fun.That a Rolex watch passion could bring people physically together to a GTG, spend a weekend doing watch related stuff in a group, and go out to eat and party together, it's truly amazing. If I told my non-watch loving friends (which is pretty much all of my local friends) that we do this, they would think it's plain weird.It's cool, to me. What do your non WIS-friends say about this passion of yours when you mention to them you're going out of town for a watch related weekend? Are they sometimes judgmental or are they totally supportive without any negative comm

Speedmaster movement durability?
All, in considering a Speedmaster, what do you know about the durability of the manual movement on the Speedy Pro vs. the 33XX on the other (Legend, GMT, etc) Speedmasters?I'm inclined towards the Speedies that have a sapphire crystal, increased water resistance and a date function, but I do like the look and aspects of the hesalite crystal and the plain, very legible uncluttered dial of the basic, good ol' Speedy Pro.And I've been reasearching and reading some remarks that the 33XX movements have had some problems.Views?Thanks,C

ok, as we all know the so called entry of Patek are 5167 and 5711but as we all know again, it seems like you can't find / buy a 5167 and especially 5711 blue dial at any Patek Boutique or ADneed to put our name and wait for like 3 yearsis just like cars, BMW need to sell more 3 and 5 series to sustain their business, is not like everybody buying a 7 seriesSo how do they survive? I don't feel like people just walk in and buy Grand Complications and Repeater on a monthly basis.just curious

I do not own this watch but I was one click away and I was honestly in talks with the seller, but couldn't pull the trigger.I sat on it for a few days and man do I regret it. Kicking myself in the arse. In the end the seller sold it for 12,000. US. It originally was listed with a buy it now for 10000.00, then I offer him 8000.00. He said it was fine, but he wanted to get it inspected before I bought it to make sure it was all legit. So I said screw getting it looked at, Ill take it for 10,000.00 The he said he would talk to me tomorrow.The next day it was listed with a BIN of 15,000. Down to 12,500. Then sold BIN of 12000.00.A true GEM in My eyes.Did anyone else see this Beut?
