.....because I can't stop looking at the Day-Dates, wishing to have one on my wrist.. Or more specifically the Day Date II's Though one of my first experiences with Rolex was a Day Date (the guy I worked for in high school had one) I was never really taken to them. Too much gold, too "old looking" (no offense to anyone - I'm talking about a teen / 20-year olds thoughts), or just too small on the wrist. Whatever the reason, I've just never spent too much time looking at them...The past 9 months or so I've really become more intrigued with them and they're gaining ground as a watch for the collection. The look, history (as much as the Sub IMO) and the Basel release of a 41mm version all had fueled the Day-Date fire.I'm no where near ready to pull the trigger on one, but at times I'm really tempted.. I find myself wishing for smaller wrists so a 36mm would fit me without looking like a ladies model.Any one else out there always thought the DD's weren't a watch they ever consider (from

This Seiko Coutura Kinetic is one of my recent purchases. In my opinion it has a decidedly modern look, which isn't my normal style, but for some reason I like it!

Why Are Watches So Addictive ?
Within the last year I have become addicted to looking at and buying watch's and straps, I currently have 3 watches, and 2 custom straps, and a buckle on order.I imagine some posting to these forums have the same vice. And by now I could have bought a second car with the money I have spent on watches, straps, and buckles.For 3 decades I wore a cheap watch until it failed, then I replaced it.Then suddenly I decided that I wanted a really nice dress watch, that was like a year ago, and suddenly I am wearing different watches everyday and sometimes changing them even during the day only if it's for just myself. I also purchased a case that holds 10 watches, and I signed up to this watch forum.I mostly own Lumtecs but I am thinking of expanding to Stolas too.Any reason you think it happens to us?

battery question
I've been reading the recent quartz threads with great interest. Here's a related question.Are all batteries used in quartz watches created equal? If you have a good quality watch and you need to replace a battery, does the watch person ask you if you want their "best" battery, or do they just slap in any battery that fits?
