Jaeger LeCoultre Q183T770 wrist watches news:
I always wanted to be able to replace the cheap quartz watch face/movement that fit my Italian charm braclet with a vintage watch and I finally have one that fits...I'm jazzed! Watch is a c. 1920, I think, Elgin 10/0E (I don't know what the E signifies) 7j in a wgf engraved, hinged case...
I have been thinking about adding a simple Pilot watch to my collection for a whilebut when I found one that I think 'this is it'....I always found one little thing thatmade me think: "OK, it's nice, but I am not in a rush so I will keep looking untilI find one that fulfills ALL of my 'wish-list-parameters'.The above Archimede came pretty darn close, but the push-in crown insteadof 'screw-in' crown was a deal breaker for me.Alright....here are the criteria. If you, my fellow WIS know where I can find onethat covers all my points, please do let me know.....1) powered by automatic ETA 2824-22) SS spacer (NO plastic)(prefer 'top grade' with Incablock, but not necessary)3) blue hands4) dial & hands (strong) lume by Luminova5) pilot style large crown6) screw-in crown (NO push in)7) sapphire crystal (NO mineral crystal)8) preferring SS solid case-back (if it comes with see-through - not a deal breaker)8) $400 or less (generic, no-name brand OK)9) must be the 'date' version - preferring

I have always let mine rest. I have two Rolex watches that have rested for ten years at a stretch. No moisture, no dust, no rust. Seems rest would not hurt them, am I wrong?
I've not owned a Speedmaster in decades. Last example was a moon watch purchased c. 1969, which I traded away in 2001, and regret it.I've read that some timepieces, when not worn at night, keep more accurate time if resting in a certain position.Might anyone know if that holds true for the Speedy 9300, specifically a gray, if that matters?Any knowledge would be appreciated.Tg
