Jaeger LeCoultre Q1852740 wrist watches news:
A?watch designer's job is to create a relationship between the wearer and their watch. The new Roger Dubuis Excalibur Knights of the Round Table II watch does this is a clever way. By decorating the dial with a culturally significant diorama, the wearer is not only comfortable with an image they have seen many times before, but they are also susceptible to its potential as an emotional trigger. With a single glance, a whole gamut of feeling can be released: Pride, passion, patriotism, for example.?The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Knights of the Round Table II picks up where the first Round Table watch left off, moving the design brief in a new direction and elevating the craftsmanship to a new level. The emotive potential of objects is enormous. The Round Table of King Arthur featured on the original model from Roger Dubuis was an imitation of the ceremonial table that hangs on the wall of Winchester Castle. That table, and others just like it, were used to great effect during the reign of Ed
It's like the year of the friggin' worldtimer. Everyone and their grandma has one now and it looks like the mere GMT has been delegated to the backseat still claiming that at least Rolex likes him. Baume & Mercier is the latest watchmaker to release their version of the worldtimer with a new piece under the Capeland collection as reported by Hodinkee (image credit). B&M didn't show it to us at SIHH because they wanted our attention on the Clifton, but the Capeland is getting extended beyond the Chronograph. Set in a 44mm wide vintage-style Capeland case, the Capeland Worldtimer has an automatic movement produced by a sister Richemont brand (which amusingly remains a secret). Looks to be rather sharp but too bad the city ring doesn't move to make it ideal for travel. In 18k red gold and steel priced starting at $7,900. baumeetmercierwatches-dealerSource: Hodinkee
Hi,i am a new member and have been dreaming of owning a Patek Phillipe for some time. I have narrowed my search to 2 watches and needed some suggestions from members who have seen or owned these watches. These are the Patek 5205G, with light grey dial and the Patek 5146P (Which is Platinum). I have only seen the 5205G in at an Authorized Dealer.I am also considering either the Patek 5712G (White Gold) or the 5726 with a black leather strap. I have seen the 5712 and it looks stunning. But the date is difficult to read. I have never seen the 5726 in real life.Regards
They will be up for auction locally as one lot, but the auction house advertises these to be from the 1920's. The Illinois is an automatic and whist I am not familiar with their watches I do not believe they made any auto's in the 20's. I would like to add some American watch brands to my little collection and the possibility to get 3 in one go is appealing, so realistically what would you guys be prepared to pay in an auction room not eBay ?
