Jaeger LeCoultre 162.24.20 wrist watches news:
I have always enjoyed watches, but my tastes and my wallet tend to run in the hundreds, not the thousands or tens of thousands (if you hang long enough on timezone, you'll come to think that no one there changes their oil or goes to the gym in a watch with less than 3 zeros attached.)But, one thing I have always enjoyed, from the moment they arrived, were Swatch watches. Affordable, thoughtfully made, whimsical, they put a Swiss watch on everyone's wrist and the Swiss watch industry back in the map, if not back on it's feet. When I discovered, a few years ago, that Swatch had made automatics, I was elated. When I learned that the ETA 2842 movement (originally a 23 jewel movement, now 21 jewel) that they used was one of the most commonly used workhorse movements in the industry and common in watches selling for several thousand dollars, the irony wasn't lost on me. For under $200 (usually $90-$150), you can get a 21 to 23 jewel Swiss watch by one of the largest names in watches. And,
I bought this Breitling preowned last year because I got a steal on it for 6k. However I barely ever wear it and I think it's because the mesh band makes it ugly for me. I am considering getting a black leather Breitling strap for it instead.Any ideas for what kind of strap/band would look great on this?
Any member have experience with this watch?
Is it a 1039 or would it be the 1171 model? Im saving for one and want to get the correct one. The 1171 seems similar to the current model bracelet, whereas the 1039 is clearly different in all aspects. Thanks in advance!
I just stumbled upon this photo online. Obviously, the 1973 fashion is simply awesome. I believe he is in London for the photo. I notice his wrist and think its a sub date. Can anyone with a better eye confirm this?
