With 2008 being an Olympic year and given Omega's exceptional achievement of being the long-standing, official timekeeper of The Games, Bienne can be excused for unveiling what appears to be many Olympic commemoratives at this year's fair. Of the other issues being 3 Seamasters, 4 Speedmasters, 1 Museum Edition, 2 De Villes and 1 Constellation, there is essentially only one new watch that is destined for the long term. I refer of course to the Aqua Terra lest we forget that the De Ville Hour Vision Annual Calendar is a limited series. Omega could be using the limited series status as a test bed to gauge demand of course in which case a long term model will be produced.Let me state that my postulations are solely based on what is contained in the press kit.My thoughts are that for 2008, Omega has chosen to announce limited series watches since by around 2010, most of the catalog it is believed, will be powered by the 8500/8501. A Diamond Watch To Wear!
36 years ago on May 8 I reported to work with my company. Then it was known as Southern Bell. In the 80's a federal judge felt it was best to break up the old AT&T phone companies and Southern Bell Became, Bell South. Fast forward another decade and SBC bought out AT&T and assumed the name. Then, they bought out BellSouth. So I have seen many changes and many logo's on the vehicle that I drive. I have also seen great advances in technology and therefore products added to the consumer. I have also seen the demise of a family to just a, get it done attitude. Anyway, with my 35 years in with BellSouth I was given this watch.And, with one more year here I realize there is one diamond for every ten years worked. I have been thinking about that and have decided, there will not be a year 37. So, in the nest few weeks I am going to give it up and with that, I will be giving up quite a bit of watch buying as my income is going to go down!But, back to the watch. I have never been a fan o
