Retro Modern IWC And Porsche Design Watches, Still Modern Looking
Impressive watch giant IWC and Porsche Design used to get together for watch making fun. IWC manufactured the watches, and Porsche Design, well, designed them. Now IWC has enough watches in its line (not that is was ever a thin line), and Eterna takes charge of making Porsche Designs' watches. Regardless, some of these watches are still made, and good deal of them from about 15-30 years ago are still around, highly collectible, and very cool.One wonderful example of this perfect relationship is the IWC Porsche Design Ref. 3551. A watch released years ago, but looking a modern as can be, this is one of the most modern and minimalist implementations of a moonphase complication. Nicely legible, with the moonphase on the top of the central cross hair design, the watch houses an ETA mechanical movement, and a little secret.Open the case upwards and the watch reveals an analog compass located underneath. New Magrette Chronographs: The Moana Pacific Chrono PVD and the Regattare Chrono
Magrette just announced the release of two chronographs to their line of watches. If you are unfamiliar with the brand, I recommend checking out Blake's review of the Magrette Regattare 2011 for a primer. But basically, they are a New Zealand based watch company that makes a mix of cushion-bodied watches ranging in price from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. Their new chronograph models continue the sport and racing aesthetic of their watches, add in an interesting movement, and manage to maintain an attractive price point.The two models are the Moana Pacific Chronograph PVD and the Regattare Chronograph. They are very similar watches, but have some distinct aesthetic differences. Both are built on the same 44mm cushion body, but the Moana has a black PVD treatment, while the Regattare is stainless. They have very similar dials, the primary difference being that the Regattare has a Tachymeter index on the outer edge, while the Moana has a minute index. Both utilize the styling

Help with 15400 Dial Color
Sorry to bother everyone again, but just when I was getting ready to purchase a white dial 15400 I went to the AP website and the pictures implied that the blue dial was much more readable. As I like both colors and fully realize ultimately it is my choice dictated by my taste, I was hoping for some insight from those more familiar with the piece regarding pros and cons of each color. Readability is important to me. Thank you.
