- I purchased this watch for my wife. She and all her friends (the ones that are not jealous!) love the watch. She is constantly bragging about the compliments she gets.Too early to comment on durability.

- The watch is beautiful, but the band fills thin and tin-like. I haven't owned it long enough to see how durable the band will be over time. The color of the band is rich like an 18kt gold band.

Jaeger LeCoultre Q 2788522 wrist watches news:
Hi GangHas anyone come across a modern version of this vintage beauty:ukwatches/2007/6610WExp.jpgBy this I mean with the shiny centre links and the upgraded clasp. No AD I've contacted has come across this particular watch.I can't seem to find it on the net, either.Yet I recently came across someone wearing (what looked to me like) a modern version of this watch.Help requested, please.
This thread could have been called a 'fascinating find' because one never knows what you may turn up while researching timepieces.To-day a very pleasant young lady, came into the museum library, looking for advice on a wristwatch, some of you may know that for a 'non' member there is only a very small charge to use the facilities (free if you paid for museum). There you can use reference books or indeed gain help from the curators.Being a wristwatch question I was asked in this case to see if I could help. Well the watch was a very nice automatic Girard Perregaux with date, I initially dated it mid 50 or 60s. On opening the watch I could see it was 18 kt gold and had the Poincon De Maitre (responsibility mark) of the case maker. Good sign. Now the movement was a 'Gyromatic 39' (39 for 39 Jewels) patented in 1958.The Gyromatic 39 automatic watch, features a record number of 39 functional jewels, with a new concept in self winding movements. The key feature of the 'Gyromatic 39' invent
Not exactly a new watch perse..but changed the strap from leather to bracelet (mesh style my current fav) and viola!!! It looks really really nice :) And finally got one that fits my wrist size too :)
What is going on with the ROO's, in terms of the 42mm's? This is not a flame thread or me bashing on 42's, but in general it seems as if the 42mm is losing its appeal and prices are being driven downwards. Personally, I am still very passionate about certain models, but a lot of the 42mm off shores look almost outdated to me. Does anyone feel this way as well or am I alone here? Side note: My (very orange) 44 Novelty is on the way and I've been living in this subsection of the forum
While I feel like a complete newbie on this I cannot seem to get a grip on the setting of the GMT function on my new to me Great White. I generally only travel through US time zones and live in EST. Perhaps one of the esteemed board members can thump me on the head with something to make it clear to me, or not.My assumption is when set, the GMT hand and hour hand move in unison. I must have not set properly because this is not the case for me.
