Girard-Perregaux has just announced its contribution to the Only Watch auction – held once every two years to benefit research into better treatments for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy – and it's a doozy: a Vintage 1945 XXL Large Date and Moon Phases wristwatch with a blue "polycrystalline" transparent dial. The case is titanium (a first for this model). It's an impressive visual effect – it gives the moon a feeling of floating in the evening sky, and it's also a shout-out to the blue Only Watch logo, and the transparency takes a watch that's already pretty high up in the eye-candy rankings and makes it really zoom. Hey All, Found a white chrono today with silvered subdials...what a gorgeous watch. I would completely recommend this for anyone in a suit that wants a sporty watch...or an all around wear-anywhere kind of watch. The white dial was crisp and clean. A bit formal I think for a sporty kind of watch. It was attractive. I see from the website there is a grey version of the automatic chrono watch...has anyone seen it or have pics of it? Any comments on it? Looks like it might be my husbands Christmas present. I had thought of a Ball, but my husband said recently he really likes the look of the chrono's. Didnt want to tell me cause they are more expensive and he knows me well enough I would buy whatever it was to make him happy. I know...ahhhhh. He does the same thing for me. I know...ahhhhh. LOL Just wait when he gets his Chopard Mille Miglia Gran Turismo chrono....I will certainly enjoy seeing him cry. LOL Judy:-)
I came across an interesting article and wanted to share. To avoid advertising the site I've cut and pasted the article into the message. Take a look. Apple makes computers, tablets, phones, portable media players, TV set-top-boxes, displays and a dozen other things, but to date, it hasn¡¯t made a wristwatch. Oh, wait, actually, it has! It¡¯s called ¡°the new iPod nano.¡±Sure, battery life will be a problem when you leave that screen on the whole time, but you could just act like it¡¯s an LED watch and it¡¯s nighttime by hitting the button to see the time.People have dreamed of fancy computer watches for a long time, and they¡¯ve recently become a reality in a sufficiently usable form. LG started the latest upswing trend by introducing a watch phone concept at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show.Apple may not have intended the nano to be used this way, but the above Flickr (Flickr) photo from Kei Ogikubo leads us to believe that maybe tablets aren¡¯t the only geek fantasy that Apple is recently
