Jaeger LeCoultre 7012420 wrist watches news:
Did you know that we, at HODINKEE, have published hundreds of professionally shot, highly produced videos on watches over the span of the last few years? You can see them all on our Youtube page. One video, originally published in June of 2014, the HODINKEE editorial team felt would be a particularly poignant clip to show today, when most Americans are away from work due to Labor Day. This video, Talking Watches with Jean-Claude Biver, not only tells us how he, and other top tier consumers collect (case quality and dial originality are a must!), but also about his early days in the watch industry, which date back to the 1970s. In sum, this 20 minute video is an amazing primer on not only serious watch collecting, but also how the watch industry came to be what it is today. Watch above and for more, you can see the full Talking Watches with Jean-Claude Biver here.
The official Rolex AD in O__ B____, Illinois is having a special viewing of the Rolex 2009 Basel Launch Models next weekend. (9/26-27/09)(I do not know this forum's policy on an Official Rolex AD. Because they are not a sponsor, I will refrain from mentioning them by name and mask their location out of respect of our sponsors.)This may be a traveling trunk show type of event. Alternatively, it may be related to the Watchtime Magazine sponsored event on Tuesday Sept 29, 2009 in Chicago. (Jeff Kinston's traveling Basel review of new models.) I highly doubt this, as I went to this event two years ago and Rolex was NOT in attendance. If this is old information, I apologize. However, many local residents of Chicagoland may want to try to see these unique watches. I know I will be traveling thru Chicago and will likely try to see these new models.Just an FYI for anyone that might be interested.Regards,

Hamilton 14K Solid Gold Reardon "cld" Watch, enhanced 18-jewel, 748 center sweep seconds movement, dates to circa 1948I have recently started dabbling into manual watches....and realized I was just missing on so much beauty for so many years...Only when wearing a mechanical chronograph one realizes that time is continuous...It’s not just chunks of seconds, minutes and hours...When a manual wind sweeps, it sweeps...does not just click...but it really sweeeeps...As the hands sweep the dial, the time sweeps everything in its way...I was actually looking for a nice watch for myselffor office use...something impressive, makes statement....but is not flashy like diamond studded wall-clocks some people wear...!Stumbled upon a listing in local classified....and turns out it's all authentic....all original...Dial has not been re-done, original patina...Any comments?I am basically looking to learn more about this watch, i tried searching online and could not find much info. May be some vet
