Cartier ID Two Concept Watch: Goodbye Metal
In the slow warm Swiss summer, Cartier wrapped up its announcement of their latest concept watch called the ID Two (ID2). It is a follow-up to the ID One watch from a few years ago and while something totally different, is a serious step forward in the progress the ID One attempted to make (the futurization of the mechanical watch). There are a few ways of looking at the ID Two. You could look at it as a gear-head watch lover and be in awe, you could look at it as a luxury marketer and scratch your head, or you could look at it from the perspective of a consumer and think, "now that is pretty cool, I'd buy one for the right price." Hey guys!I¡¯ve been thinking about acquiring a 5170P for some time.. My AD and other AD¡¯s I¡¯ve spoken to said it is a hard piece to get. On the other hand, I¡¯ve spoken to grey dealers (that I trust) and they said they can get me one sealed same day for $55-60K. I¡¯m not too familiar with the none sport models of Patek but This is a 98K retail watch.. Now I¡¯m a bit confused, is something wrong with the 5170P? Don¡¯t get me wrong, I don¡¯t buy pieces for investments; but I also don¡¯t want to lose my pants off if I ever want to trade it in. 98K ¡ª-> $55-60K is a HUGE discount..

Patek exhibition London
Firstly if anyone gets the chance to visit this event at the Saatchi gallery London go for it. I've just returned from spending a Couple of days in the capital and visited the exhibition on Saturday and Sunday. Amazing exhibition and top marks to Patek. So here's just a snippet of my weekend 🍻 The original Patek aviator watch Some beautiful enamel dials 😍Artist at work Hand engraving I had the pleasure of also chatting with one of the watchmakers based at the UK service centre who kindly let me handle his watch that he had made himself from scratch as part of his coursework if you should happen to pick up the grand master chime this is the box you will receive to compliment it . Sorry if the pics are a little jumbled guys but I've got that many and not much time to post so these a just a few Radom shots. Again if you get the chance to visit the exhibition go for it 🍻
