Need help with a Seiko PMMM project
Hi everybody, I have a Seiko SKX007J4 and I love it, but there are some things on that watch that I feel they could be improved, those things are: a little less "sport" look on the dial and a clasp with more than two adjustment holes because the watch sits a little bit too loose or too tight on my wrist. Since I saw a picture of a PMMM (Poor Man's Marine Master) a couple of years ago, I always wanted to have one. So that's my project: building one out of some different parts. As I live in Venezuela, I only have 400$ a year to spend on internet with my credit card, so I have to be very careful with my budget. Here's my plan...I'll buy the following:-The cheapest SKX171K (the one with rubber strap) = 188$-A black SKX007 bezel = 56$-A 22mm Seiko SNA029-bracelet = 39$-A 22mm Seiko SBBN007-bracelet WITH WET SUIT EXTENSION = 83$I've read somewhere on the net that the SNA029 bracelet fits perfectly on the SKX models so I want to use it for this project. I'm In Enormous Trouble...
I'm digging myself a hole, and it's getting bigger by the second.Yesterday, I paid a visit to my AD. I've been thinking that my next purchase should be under a grand. But, yesterday, I tried on a few pieces which could certainly sway funds from one thing to another.First off, the Omega Speedmaster. Mother of God.It was on a black croc strap, and looked absolutely wonderful on my wrist. A real nice size; actually, I think it wears larger than it actually is. I'm thinking it would be a nice compliment to my Seamaster Pro.Second: The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean. It was the one with the orange bezel on a black rubber strap w/orange stitching. My daughter didn't care for it but, hey, what does she know? Kids these days, huh?Next was the Ball Hydrocarbon Engineer. I've had my eye on this one, with the white dial and blue hands, for quite some time. This one is actually closest to where I wanted to be, money-wise.Lastly, we have the Oris Carlos Coste Limited Edition. An absolutely enormous w

What I thought modern Rolex is missing
I am smitten by my moonwatch and IWC 3251 lately, and got no wrist time with my Rolex watches.Why is that?It's because I am amazed by the dome crystal. The way how it distorts the dial, adding a 3 dimensional appeal the watch, I cannot stop staring at it.The curved surface is sexy!Especially apparent when my hands were on the steering wheel, a tilt of the wrist to glance at it made me smile.Isn't it wonderful to have a varied collection?!I dream of the vintage subs with dome plexi, the tritium indices are sweet like lollipops.If Rolex will make a new dome crystal model, I'll be all over it like pigs in ****
