Longines Longines 10447 wrist watches news:
Stopped by the Jewler today to have a look at the Rolex watches he had in stock. I struct up a conversation with the man behind the counter. He told me that in the many well to do circles of the world, Rolex is considered a low end or cheap watch. He said there is a lot of time pieces that are far better than the Rolex. He started to tell me about the Patek and a few others. I couldn't beleive what he told me. I always thought Rolex was rated numer one in the Horological world. I guess that shows how much I don't know! Just wondering though, has anyone here ever heard Rolex being considered a low end in Swiss watches.Rob
A fine "Brindle"-strap from Micah (vintagerstraps/)How do you like it on the Explorer? Thanks again Micah !!!
Most people get a watch at their retirement party. This time, I'm throwing a party for a retiring watch. This Cardinal has been with me for about 14 years as a work watch. About six of those years were spent working in iron casting and another eight years in aluminum casting. It's had a hard life of extreme heat and cold, sweat, sand, oils, hard shocks, hits and any number of other indignities over the years. About five years ago, it's crystal came off and it lost it's seconds hand. I found the crystal lodged in a steel staircase a week later, glued it back on and put it back into service. Last week, the battery died while I was on vacation. It's time to say goodbye to a comfortable old friend. It's being replaced by a new Timex quartz that I hope will endure the same physical punishment. It should last until I retire (if I even make it to retirement). I have to go with quartz as a work watch because it stays at work in my locker during weekends and vacations.
Hey guys, I haven't posted much in the AP sub forum, but have read your posts as I was considering my first AP. I went to my AD and tried on the 15400, but it just didn't feel right - I think it felt a little bigger than what I had hoped for. However, I was able to track down a pre-owned 15300, and the size feels much better. The thickness of the bracelet and heft is taking some time to get used to, as my other sports watches are a pp 5711 and 5167, but the white/silver dial really compliments my predominantly dark dial watch collection. Anyway, if anyone else didn't find the 15400 to be a good fit, I recommend you give the 15300 a try!
Hello All!!! Got in touch with my AD yesterday ... inquired about a sea dweller 4K , Sub date LN and the hulk ...!!!Sea Dweller 4K and Sub date LN were in stock brand new if you can imagine and the hulk had to be ordered .Now I¡¯ve already purchased 3 Rolex from this ADso I already have an established relationship... when I asked about pricing I got list price on all 3 pieces !!!! No concession whatsoever!!!! Needless to say I wasn¡¯t to happy ... Mind you I called , it wasn¡¯t a personal visit ... When I get home I plan on visiting the store in hopes for a change of mind on my Jewelers part.... What is it ? I got a decent discount on all my other Rolex... Is it the market right now on the professional series models especially the SS??? I mean the Sea Dweller 4K at list I might understand cause it¡¯s discontinued ... Should I expect a discount on the Sea Dweller 4K? What about the Sub Date LN? Hulk needs to be ordered anyway.... Share your thoughts with me... This is the same AD I got my B
