Hello, I am new to this and would like some information if anyone knows. I have inherited a 18kt yellow gold gents 18048 42 diamond white gold bezel with a 10 diamond dial two of which are tapered baguettes at the 6 and 9 positions. I have been informed that the bezel and dial are aftermarket. I recently observed the exact same watch on E-Bay in the same configuration. I do understand that E-Bay is not the best source but I have been trying to find out if Rolex did or did not even as a special run, place a white gold bezel on a yellow gold case. The serial number is 6546XXXX I was told by the Rolex service center that a comparison model would be the 118348. Does anyone have any idea regarding this configuration. The watch was initially sold in Detroit Michigan at Wright Kay jewelers. This company has since closed its doors. I suspect the purchase was made in the late 70's to mid 80's.
Hello:Before I go into detail I just want to ask if its alright for someone to give mea value on some watches my Father left my Husband. We have had them cleaned, new crystals etc. However, before I do something that is not allowed, could someone comment on the etiquette in requesting financial information. Thanks very much. - Colleen
Hey guys, I haven't posted much in the AP sub forum, but have read your posts as I was considering my first AP. I went to my AD and tried on the 15400, but it just didn't feel right - I think it felt a little bigger than what I had hoped for. However, I was able to track down a pre-owned 15300, and the size feels much better. The thickness of the bracelet and heft is taking some time to get used to, as my other sports watches are a pp 5711 and 5167, but the white/silver dial really compliments my predominantly dark dial watch collection. Anyway, if anyone else didn't find the 15400 to be a good fit, I recommend you give the 15300 a try!
I¡¯ve always bought from an AD, but for a long time I¡¯ve heard so much about DavidSW.. had a business trip in Orlando this past weekend so couldn¡¯t pass up the opportunity to meet him and see his one year old store... walked out with a BNIB moonwatch, my first modern omega . Service was fantastic , both David and Dan. Can not recommend enough !
