Just bought this one on the 'Bay. Has an 11ESK movement (ETA 1080) running strong, clean case and wonderful patina on the dial. For now, I'll just post the seller's pics. More to come...$(KGrHqVHJCcE7zBG,ZHqBPEzosY6mQ~~60_12.JPG$(KGrHqZHJ!4E7)t)J3+bBPEzpJUKgQ~~60_12.JPG
So I know I've been all over the radar lately in regards to hunting down the next piece.I've been strongly considering Rolex Precious Metal, which most likely means flipping my YMII and possibly my LVC too (if i replace them with a PM Sub).Anyway, here's the thought process. Before I got my YMII I strongly considered and debate the DSSD as well as the AP Diver.I've definitely had my fears about taking the leap into AP. It's kind of like I've been vacationing in the same place for 20 years, and now I'm considering trying some place new. But the original place just feels like home. OK, blah blah, you get it.So here's where I'm at. I've been infatuated with the AP Diver for longer than the DSSD and the YMII. I love the look, the strap versatility, the feel and of course contextual history of the Audemars Piguet. If i was to seriously consider leaving my SS days behind me for PM, part of me feels like I need to knock the AP Diver off my horological bucket list.Does picking up the AP
So I bit the AP bug. Recently picked up an AP ROO Diver and am so in love with it. I would like to have one more ROO in my permanent collection and something a little different from the Diver. Out of the following four choices, which one would you pick and why?I don't like the rubber bezel ones and FC cases are ou of my price range.1) ROO Safari2) ROO Panda (with te red accents)3) ROO Titanium - gray dial4) ROO VocanoTIA!
I'm being offered a stainless 5980, papers dated 2008. The watch is in nice shape but has never been serviced. Being a Patek NOOB, I have some concerns....1. Will the watch be needing service soon ?2. Any major changes between 2008 and the last year of production (2013 or 2014 I believe) ?Anything I should look for ? or is it better to try and find a newer one ? Thanks very much for the feedback.
Hello,This past Sunday, I purchased a new 116710ln with a random serial at a well known AD in Chicago. This was my first, new Rolex purchase. That night, I torched the dial expecting to see green lume all around. At first, I caught a glimpse of blue. Feeling excited, I glanced back at the dial and noticed that all of the hands were glowing green. But, the hour indices were clearly glowing blue. Now, I thought all GMT lume shifted to blue in ~2012-14, not just the hour indices. Is this normal?Tom
