As predicted previously during my discussion of the Seiko Coutura watch commercial, it was predicted that more watch commercials would appear in this new wave of watch advertising. There is nothing inherently interesting about a product being advertised on television, but in the case of watches, it is a form of advertising rare of unheard of in the United States. It is a sign that watches are becoming marketed more, meaning higher availability, and more selection for watch lovers.The newest commercial viewing focused on the new Omega DeVille, but did not mention the model by name, just "Omega." And then the phrase "hour vision" which alludes to the fact that the watch case has sapphire crystal sides for viewing of the movement. Do you have a criteria for your collection?
When I first started out it was a case of looking for watches suitable for the activities I engaged in. Hence my 2252.50 was a daily-use number while the Connie was for dress-up occasions in the evening. The black AT filled the gap in respect of versatility.Now I don't look to specifically having a dress watch anymore. Perhaps I've become more relaxed in my attitudes to the suitability of watches worn under a variety of occasions but I think the Speedy Pro 3573.50 with its' crystal clear sapphire front is dressy enough for a tux as it is for daily use. I am looking to make a collection of Speedies and do have my eye on one or two but I no longer feel the need for a dress watch. I may consider a slightly more water-resistant number for the occasions when I am by a rock pool and feel the need to immerse my wrist in 18 inches of water.Hey that is a lot of water so I'm not taking any chances.;)How about you pals? Worn bezel on 2351 Bond - keep it or
Hi gents,I'm thinking on giving my 17 y.o. Bond a refreshed look - what could need most love is the bezel. Its original blue has faded and it gained some scratches in return.As far as I could find out, Omega doesn't sell the bezel insert alone - it sells the whole package - clever guys! . I saw some posts on other forums of some gents replacing the bezel and it really gives the watch another look... What do you think? Does this faded bezel, along the patina that's starting very faintly to show on the dial indexes starts to give this 17 y.o. watch a classic status? Is my Bond going through its coming of age, so I should keep it like that?Or, on the other hand, replacing the bezel by a new one would give it a better, more modern look?
