Anyone even have a ballpark figure on this yet? The best thing out of Baselworld this year was Omega's new, in-house, co-axial, liquidmetal, 2-tone-luminova Seamaster Planet Ocean Chronograph with the 9300/9301 guts. But after a few days of cruising the forums, no one has announced a price. $10K? A Japanese dealer was offering a very good price (about US$3,000) on Chrono24 for a NIB Omega Speedy 3570.50. When pressed on the origin of the AD, he sent me this pic. Not exactly the most reassuring provenance. Would it bother you enough to look elsewhere?

In the big scheme of things what's the point of 5960/1A
I simply do not understand this watch or its purpose in fact it makes me quite angry - Patek grand complications have a certain status amongst the watch collecting community. They are aspirational watches, you have to be privileged and in a certain point / position in life to own one and are pinnacles of design purity. The SS 5960 in terms of Patek purity of design misses that mark by a long shot ( the hand design, the hour markers, the thick goggled calendar windows and that mirror surface bracelet are a collection of mismatches - it is a watch made for the masses that really in terms of design purity is very poor. A watch should be as good as it possibly can be and sadly for this piece this is not the case, you may argue certain design features look appealing but as a whole it is not the best it could have been, and that is what I expect from Patek THEIR BEST.I see so many brands dilute their propositions to appeal to broader customers, while this is all good and fine - for Patek I t
