Longines L4.809.4.72.6 wrist watches news:
An announcement like this often flies under the radar, until a major watch brands sexes it up with a fancy announcement and by placing it into a new timepiece - but this news is very much worth knowing about. Say hello to what may be a rare oddity or common name in watchmaking in the near future: The Genequand System. It is a new type of balance wheel and escapement system for mechanical watches which promises to lengthen the power reserve of a traditional watch to a month or longer without any changes to the mainspring. That is compared to the 2-3 days of power per single mainspring barrel currently available with most standard mechanical watches. Apparently, it took over 10 years to even get into a working watch movement prototype.Hermes-controlled Vaucher (a Swiss company that produces watch movements) and CSEM (a scientific company dedicated to Swiss micro technology and applied research) worked together in order to produce a working prototype of the Genequand System, which is now
The Stainless Steel case will complement any skin tone. Stainless Steel is a classic color case that will never go out of style. The elegant Black dial, will make your watch look sophisticated and timeless. The bracelet on the watch is Alligator Leather - Black so it will match everything you wear.
I was looking for information about the King Midas and found some photos of Christopher Lee acting as The man with the golden gun from the James Bond movie. Looks like he had a King Midas.Anyone know if any other James Bond bad guys used Rolex too, if so what type?Images from: google search
My wife's dad passed away recently and she got his Patek 3445. Just back from Patek's service in Geneva. She loves it. It's a special watch.
I got a chance to try on a range of Panerai models a few days ago. I loved the size and feel of the 45mm Radiomir 1940 case-- perfect fit for me. The solid lugs were a way better choice for me than the wire lugs on the other Radiomir collection, and the slim case (height-wise) is really lovely. The Automatic text on the dial just kills a lot of the potential models for me-- it throws off the balance, the mismatched font drives me nuts, etc. Just a no-go. Are there discontinued models of the Radiomir 1940 I should be looking around for that are in 45mm but with a manual wind movement or that don't have Automatic on the dial? I'm okay with the Black Seal dial text as that at least matches font-wise. Any idea if there are upcoming models later this year/early next that may fit my requirements? I've looked and can't find much. Many thanks!
