Alpina Goes Vintage with the Seastrong Diver Heritage
The popularity of ‘heritage’ models from established watch manufactures is still going strong this year at Baselworld 2016, and Alpina has joined the fray with a strong entry. In 1967 Alpina produced an EPSA Super Compressor cased diver called the Alpina 10. This was one of many Super Compressor divers made during that era, and the Alpina 10 is a rare and desirable model for collectors these days. Now nearly 50 years later, Alpina has launched the Seastrong Diver Heritage, and modern interpretation of that classic Alpina 10. Much like Longines did with the Legend Diver, Alpina has taken their vintage classic and given it a modern update.The Seastrong Diver Heritage is a sleek and understated diver. The stainless steel case is 42mm wide and 12.3mm thick and will have a sapphire BOX crystal, with a water resistance of 30 bar or 1000ft. This makes it much larger than the original, but as wrist shots show, it fits very nicely, and wears a bit smaller than expected.The caseback

My uncle recently passed away .He had no kids or anything so most of his things went to goodwill . I kept a box of watches mostly Timex and Pulsars. A local dealer bought those for parts and offered me 100.00 for this one but i decided to keep it .Dont know much about it hoping to get some info.

¡°Upgrading¡± from 5107G to 5227G? Thoughts requested
Need your thoughts...currently have the 5107G which is the second photo below. Given a choice, would you ¡°upgrade¡± to the 5227 current model (first photo below, although this is in RG as this is all the AD has at the moment. I am thinking of getting the WG). Differences are: 324 vs 315 movement, larger case for 5227 (39mm vs 37mm), absence of crown guards on newer model, absence of double indices at 12 on newer model, scalloped lugs on newer model. Flatter bezel on the older model, more rounded bezel on 5227. I am planning on wearing this as a day to day office watch. I do love the 5107G which is a recent acquisition, especially the crown guards, but I am also considering the 5227 because of the cream dial and the slightly larger size.
